character modifications opinions

I personally feel its contradictory to the false sense of accomplishment i acheive while playing video games if i cant earn my random drops and my god like character myself i dont get the same level of satisfaction
That being said i dont beleive my veiws must apply to anyone else
The goal of running a hex editor to change save files, changing code to increase drop rates, experience, or finding a way to "beat the system" yeilds a sense of accomplishment probably more real than the monotomy of grinding
Aside from the ethical perspective there is the practical side of it all essentially we are all beta testers creating characters to certain specs only allows people to test more quickly
beyond that i read a statistic somewhere that showed the more creative a person the more likely they are to cheat as it accomplishes the same goal in a different manner
perhaps if my pride was not already so intertwined with my character i might have thought about it but too many hours have been invested to change now
Others opinions?
