endless grinding for leg items

My question is it worth it or is it fair, I know its all based on luck with obtaining an item but is it a fair system, why should one player spend months grinding for one and another can obtain one pretty fast, even with magic finder its hit or miss! ,my proposal is a fair system, for those who obtain it quick the stats for the item should stay the same, for those who spend a great deal of a time obtaining the item the stats should be higher! Ex, Rols=for every 1000 hits it takes to obtain the item +1 damage, they should be some sort of reward for those who spend more time searching for an item, your thoughts players !

Well, then it would tip the balance in favour of those who grinder longer, as when they finally get it they'd have the better item... I think that I agree that I hate grinding for these items, but I'd hate having that implemented too. This needs a better solution than a mind like mine can come up with. Maybe something like a mysterious merchant who sells all of the non-ordinary items for 25000 gold per legendary, 10000 gold per extraordinary, items, so that if you've had enough grinding you can yourself one of these from the merchant, thereby setting a maximum to how much you must grind for an item.

I dont see what the problem is. You either choose to grind for an item or you dont. The legendary items are hard to get because they are legendary. Lets face facts you dont need these items to complete the quests. Some are no better than items purchased from shops. Also if it took several levels of grinding to obtain your hero only got stronger in that time. I feel stongly that this is ok as it is.

+1

The reward you get for grinding longer is the extra level ups, and being able to boost your AD, AC, BC or HP along the way. When I first tried to get the RoLS, before the update that included BWM/Prim, it really helped me to be ready for those quests, in terms of stats.

+1, If you like to have one you need to grind.. And if there is merchant the price of legendary items should be something like. 1000000+ gold..

I don't think that the current L&E system needs to be fixed or changed. Low drop chance & luck makes it intresting.

I think the key is that right now, leg/ext items only have "a chance" to drop. Logically, that also means they have a chance to not drop. It's theoretically possible for someone to continue grinding forever without ever getting one to drop. In fact, if you follow real world statistics, you have just as much chance of having the item drop as you do of it never dropping regardless of what the drop rate is. To explain, allow me to demonstrate:

Kill monster 1 = item either drops or it doesn't
Kill monster 2 = item either drops or it doesn't
Kill monster 3...

Individually, each monster may have a 1:10,000 drop rate assigned to it but kill 10,000 of them and you have a 50/50 chance that the item dropped. Either it did or it didn't.

In that regard, I would agree with Wyrmspawn that as an alternative, you should be able to purchase these items from a vendor for a LARGE sum of gold. That way you could grind and grind and never have the item drop but at least you would eventually have enough gold to just buy the item. I would recommend the items have different names to reflect the difference between dropped and sold but other than that their stats should be the same. An easy way to calculate the amount of gold these items should cost would be to count the gold you earn from the monsters that drop the item and then multiply that by the number of kills you would need for the item to drop (1,000 and 10,000) and then perhaps multiply by 120% to cover additional gold one might earn while grinding. That way if you do grind out 10,000 monsters and still don't have the item at least you could nearly afford to buy the sold version of it.

For example, there are 9 Trainers and 4 Masters in the Gargoyle Caves. At a max of 22 gold from Trainers and 25 gold from Masters, that works out to an average of about 23 gold per kill. After 10,000 kills you should have about 230,000 gold and multiply that by 1.2 and you have an estimated gold cost of 276,000 for a RoLs. Yes, it's expensive; it's a legendary item, what did you expect? The point isn't to allow people to just go buy the blasted items whenever they want, it's to allow someone with luck that's just that bad to still have a chance at the item.

Save yourself sometime, the above can be abbreviated R.T.O.O. :ugeek:

Does anyone know when the items to be dropped are generated? Is it when the mob loads into the area, or when it is killed?

the item is generated when the enemy is killed.
