Fast Travel

I've seen it mentioned before and I thought I'd just make a whole topic on it. I think it is a great idea and I don't think by just getting somewhere you should be able to fast travel there. If there was a 'final' quest in a city after you have completed the rest of the quests you can do a quest for some guy that flies by getting permission from a quest master along the way. Once completing that quest you can fast travel to that location only. I bring this up because walking to Remguard (spelled right?) is quite difficult, but much more concerning is how long it takes to get there. As the game expands I think this will become a more increasing topic.

Well I don't like the idea of fast travels, it kills the game realism. Why don't we set up some kind of teleportation spells or items.
In a game i've played you could teleport to an elven city which was really far by using a crystal. Each crystal had 5 charges and you could loot them from the guards of that city. Maybe a Fallhaven gem which you could loot in the catacombs from a new npc: Undead Fallhaven Guard or just buy them from the potion maker (north of the shop where you buy the JoF).

CIties where you should find gems to teleport to:
- Remgard
- Black Water Settlement / Prim (depending of which city you chose to side with)
- Fallhaven
- Feygard/Nor City when they will be implemented.

How can you say "fast travel kills the game realism" yet recommend a teleportation :?:

If you want to have fast travel to a town, sleep there, then kill yourself.
Example, sleep in Remgard, then travel all the way to Blackwater, get the item from mazteg then kill yourself. You magically awake back in Remgard.

HAHAHAHA
Pure genious brutal humor. Sweeet.

My opinion is that fast travel takes away from the game.

I agree to a certain degree, there could be a creature that can fly you there for a fee. Or another thought are mounts you can buy.

Difficult topic. I think travelling by foot is an important part of the game. It is a fun challenge in the beginning but can become boring over time. I remember the way to Ramgard beeing a terribly tough one, but now after a few level-ups it got way easier.

So if you introduce fast travelling, use it only for routes that the player has already mastered.

This game's world is full of magics so teleportation goes with the background...
If you add teleportation you'll have to quest to unlock it...

By the way: teleportation already exist in the game when travelling from Blackwater Mountain to Prim when you are inside that special chamber.
