Attack\Flee Buttons

Something I noticed the other day..... hitting the attack button instead of pressing on the screen (both done rapidly) looks faster
So do you just press the screen or tap the button?
In addition to this, can anyone else get the long-press to flee option to work? I've tried many times and I always end up attacking when I let go.

I have all loot dialog turned off and attack options set to the quickest possible and I don't notice any difference in clicking on the map vs clicking the attack button in terms of speed.
Long pressing does does work but you have to long press on a passable tile immediately next to your character. That means either an empty tile or another monster. Long pressing on a wall or tree or something else like that doesn't work nor does long pressing on a tile that's not right next to you.

Same here. Are you sure? Watch your AP...maybe my eyes deceive me..
and thank you. I wasn't clicking on passable tiles.

It really is hard to tell when I am one or two shotting most opponents
Remind me to test this when I go somewhere that I'm not insta-killing my targets

It is possible, I suppose, to get a very small speed increase by tapping attack, if only because the engine might skip tap location checks because it's a button press instead of a screen tap, but idk, not able to really look at the coding right now
