How does immunity against critical hits work ?

Hi

How does immunity against critical hits work ?
a) the test if the hit is critical is skipped if the monster is immun
b) if the hit is critical the hit will count as miss

or: is it negative to improve critical hits, if you fight against those monsters, or is it just useless ?

Thanx....

@Sarumar: some mobs are immune to our critical hits
plaguestrider masters, wyrm trainers, imps, and more

I can imagine you never noticed that, being above lvl 250

I assume the answer would be "a", but I haven't checked the code for it...

Saru, some monster types are now immune to critical hits
Ghosts are one type, I think demons are too.

And that is an excellent question kasper. I do not know the answer, but will try to figure it out :)

Undead creatures, ghosts, and more are immune to Crits.

I beleive that the Crits do not have any effect on if the swing hits or misses, it just effects the multiplier that takes effect when a hit connects.

Being able to eventually get immunity to crits on your build would be cool though.

Project Meeting #11 ( http://andorstrail.com/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=2006 ) says:
How does immunity vs crits work?: viewtopic.php?f=2&t=1995
TODO: Oskar. Reply that there are three separate die rolls (hit or not, damage, crit or not).
Yes.. I read this in another thread, but what happens if the monster has immunity and the "crit-roll" is positive ?!
So: In case of immunity, is the "crit-roll" skipped => a hit is never critical, or is the "crit-roll" activated and the hit miss, if crit is positive ?

Maybe I should read the sources ;-)

Intresting, I go to kill some demons and raport soon ;)

done, IMO when you got a critical hit agains creature who are immune to crit it is just normal hit.

...Pyro do you have enough skill points ? Im curious will the skills of internal bleeding and fracture works against critical immune monster ? That will be nice one.. IMO critical hits are a bit underpowered novadays and those high lvl skills are useless until they work agains crit immune enemyes or are able to work with every hit .. . . .

BTW, Bone champions are not immune to criticals ;)

To put it simply if the monster is immune then the third roll never happens and the attack ends.
