I think Pyrizzle was referring to the fact that you can drop stuff anywhere you want right now and it stays there (barring any bugs). In other words, the whole world is your storage cave.

That and the little box in Mikhail's cabin appears to be an actual container of some kind so if you're forgetful you can always just leave stuff in it.

Items can also be stored in the basket in the Prim inn & the baskets in Vacor's hideout.

Ok so mikhails house is the bed you start at but what basket I don't see it anywhere and how do you drop items???

the basket is located in the lower right corner of the screen.

To drop items: long press on the item until a menu pops, you can select to drop items from there.
