Using beds that are not in town (or near potion or food)

I found that the best thing for when you are using a bed that is not located in a place that you can easily get potions or food.

There is one spot that come to mind:

The dreaded Blackwater Mountain cabin

When you get to the cabin for the first time, right near the bed drop 50 or more potions/foods/whatever (always bring more potions than you will need), use the bed if you wish and then leave. That way if you run out and potions and die you will not get stuck when you respawn.

Good planning! The only other one I can think of is the bed (more like sleeping bag) by the guy studying the bugs in the cave halfway to Remgard. He sells potions but they're not that great a deal.

I was going to add the bed in the bug caves to this list but he does sell potions ,

This technique works, I do it for every bed I use.

So what you are saying is that an item once dropped to the ground doesn't ever get removed?

You can drop an item (on ground or in a basket) for future pick-up.

Nice planning, especially if it's your first venture into BWM and you don't know your character limitations yet.

This is indeed a very useful approach. I feel limited from the start, slowly making it into the game now at Level 13.

Like all RPGs, it gets easier the more you level. Just this one takes a lot longer than a traditional RPG to get to that point. Be prepared and you'll be fine.
