Hi,
i would like to make a translation for the german language. LeSangliers thread explains how to get the english source files. Am i able to edit the files directly on my android phone in "values-de" and if so, where are the language files located on the phones file system? If this is not possible, how can i test my translated strings?

Thanks for your help!

UPDATE: At this position i'll post the latest files!

Completed:
strings.xml, based on v0.6.9
itemlist.xml, based on v0.6.9
content_questlist.xml, based on v0.6.11 (r221)

Work in progress:
content_conversationlist.xml
[=====================================================================================================] (8/101)

:!: Please send me a PN if you want to help to translate this huge file. You'll get back the code of a conversation list to translate then. Thanks for your help!

Code repository:
Original (english) language files
German translation files included in Oskar's build

Hello,

For testing my translation, I built the source code and uploaded the binaries (.pak) on my phone.
See here how to compile the source code : http://andors.techby2guys.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=293

You can use Google Translator. It worked well to turn it into English.

Hi,
here comes my first version of strings.xml. Download it: strings.xml.

Please note, that this version is untested. I will test it as soon as i am able to compile the source code...

I have made some updates and corrections to the strings.xml.
I also don't know if the game title should be "Andor's Spur" or something else in German. So I made a poll here: Poll.

Hope you can understand the corrections, bomber. Sometimes its really though to decide what sound, suits or fits better.
I decided to change "Aufträge" and "Stufe" to "Quests" and "Level" although its English. (IMO its better, also many other games use "Quests" and "Level" instead of something else.)
I also used "HP" and "Lebenspunkte" instead of "GP" and "Gesundheit". For other changes see some merge tool.

Update: The game name was updated to "Andor's Trail" now. Please redownload the file.

Hi,
here comes a new version of strings.xml. Download it: strings.xml.
UPDATE: Here is the first version of itemlist.xml: itemlist.xml.

It contains most of the suggestions from Samuel (for the abbreviation of "Lebenspunkte" i choose "LP" instead of "HP"). Thanks for your work!

I did think of the LP instead of HP before too. You are right, perhaps LP is better.

Here are 2 thoughts about strings you changed back.
Just to state my opinion not to force you to use it.

Code: Select all

<string name="levelup_description">Du hast Stufe %1$d erreicht!</string>
IMO it should be: "Du hast Level %1$d erreicht!" (as you didn't change "Level" back to "Stufe" in other places) - Perhaps you only missed this one.

Code: Select all

<string name="heroinfo_char">Statistiken</string>
IMO it should be: "Übersicht" (as its not only about combat statistics but also about level-up and quests)

You did a really great job on the items. The translations look really good.
Had some problems with this 2 items:

Code: Select all

Ring of strike | Schlagring
Ring of vicious strike | Brutaler Schlagring
"Schlagring" has another meaning in German. ;) But unfortunately I do not have a good idea how to improve.

You're right! I missed the two items. They are now corrected!

I really know this! ;)
But i accepted the different meaning in preference to the bad sound of "Ring des Schlags".
