Just throwing some ideas out, what about having a quest whereby instead of getting a weapon, etc you get the chance to get a skill point.Perhaps meet a master of skills who will give you 1 skill point in return for doing some sort of quest for him (her).Your thoughts and any ideas welcome !

Yes there is one in game but you don't get a choice with that quest.
A quest where the player can decide where to use a skill point if he completes the quest.

Sarumar, if I am assuming correctly I think he means one point (like the one every 4 lvls) to do with whatever he wants. This doesn't exist in the game as far as I know. The only similar thing I know of that does exist in game is "Dark blessing of the Shadow". But i could be wrong.

Exactly friend you don't get a choice with dark protector, this quest will give you the chance to use 1 skill point on what you want.I have got an idea for a storyline but thought id get other players thoughts and ideas first.

I like the Idea personally, but getting skill points isn't that hard. I mean take a look at the high scores and I can just about guarantee you that the top guys are not worried about their next skill point, as it will likely go into fast learner anyway.

That said it would just about have to be a lower level quest somewhere in the beginning of the game, maybe even to explain skill points to new players. Which I hate to admit but i was a little confused about SP's in my first week of playing.

Or, if it is to be a mid to high level quest (my own spin) maybe the rewards could be choose-able (Seems like a popular idea lately). I think you could pick from the guy (girl) quest giver could give you an option of their "favorite" helmet (really any piece of gear); 2 (or more) skillpoints; or a skillpoint in a new skill (only obtainable by that quest giver) similar to (Dark blessing of the Shadow). I think maybe a skill (Strong defense) that could add 1 DR to any weapon you equip. But then again I'm biased there since I went with a defensive build. (BTW I love it)

Good idea, like I said its just a thought, perhaps could be low level for new players, In the dialogue could explain the concept of skill points or something like that !

I remember thinking that there are not enough low level quests, so i think something like this would fit the bill and would not take very long to create. Could put this into the first town (not even trying to spell it) or fallhaven.

@ PK17 & Scottdog

I understand the original idea and IMO it is not bad at all... But IMO current system of gifts after quest is nice (player can have really good item or some unique skill). Perhaps we can can have both ?

I think we just NEED tutorial quests no matter the reward. The game is like a really good novel. Super dry and slow at first then once your halfway through you struggle to put it down. Greatness! I think the new quest exp change will make it a little easier at first tho

That reminds me.... when the quest exp change (think its 10x what it is now) will existing characters be "reimbursed" the exp from quests weve already completed?
