Let me start by saying this is not me complaining about anything.
I have noticed many different religions in this game (and different sides of the same religion) like the shadow (think there is light and dark shadow), the kazual religion and others. Most pertain to some deity that they put all of their faith into.
There is no other forms of religions in the game. All pertain to a singular (maybe multiple) deities. I don't mind all to much because it is a "middle-agey" type game, and religions similar to these reined during those times. However I believe the game needs some different aspects. Maybe a religion similar to Buddhism (we can battle their gods maybe).
But i would like to see someone (or group of people) who have more of a Pantheist (scientific) view on the world (not named). Just a quick brief: Pantheism is the belief in the science of the cosmos (space), believe in 0 deity(s), and that the randomness of the universe is based upon the "substratum" or the "Cosmic life continuum." Much of this religion is based upon findings of many famous scientists including one Mr. Albert Einstein
Now I am a very nonreligious person, and am not trying to sway peoples ideas. But since the game's "audience" is the whole world I think the game should include religions "similar but not the same" to other types of religions. Including Polytheistic religions, scientific religions, cults, and some native peoples religions (Native American, Incan, Aztec, Aboriginal).
I would like to see the aspects of the game stretch culturally in more ways than just religions but this is just a few ideas.
Again, not trying to discuss religious views with others, nor am I trying to offend anybody or any people. Just a few pointers I think could help the game expand.

Re: Religions of the game
Not to be a wet blanket here but I like the fact that the game is not based on any true world religious beliefs. I think adding in something that could be tied in closely to the real world can be upsetting to some and just downright confusing for others. By keeping the gods and other Deities fictional gives players the opportunity to explore different ideas that have nothing based on real world beliefs. Let's not forget this is a fantasy game and the more that we move it from fantasy and into the real world takes more of the Fantasy away.
Besides as it is we already have wars on the forums between the shadow and light.

+1 to fire's point
As far as non believers, the guards seem to be non religious, but as far as science goes potion making seems to be the extent.

Re: Religions of the game
Fire I understand your point and maybe you just misinterpreted what I meant. In our world (earth) there are hundreds of thousands of religions and beliefs. But what you said about the game (shadow, light, and the non believers) is completely true. I just feel any world, ours, andor's or otherwise would have many different religions. Some who get along some who don't and others who hate or are hated by everyone else. Exactly what you said gives my point some validity (about the opposing factions on the forums.) If i don't want to believe in the shadow, or Kazual, but I want to belong to a faction i have no choice but one of the select few.
I also understand the game is constantly changing (things being added, taken away, or changed) and that is why I feel this is necessary. We (community) are trying to get the game everywhere (hence all the language translations done and in progress) We want some aspect (any) to jump out at the player and get them hooked on the game and (hopefully) get them to join the forums and help contribute. Which factions a player can join makes them feel like a part of the world. And nothing gets a fire lit in someone like when their opinion is disregarded by another.
And again, i understand religion is a touchy subject for many people. I dont suggest making any religion in the game seem like it represents one in real life. But like the "science based" religion i had suggested. Maybe the people of a town that has a meteor crash down and they feel it is a sign from the cosmos. Meanwhile the people in Nor think they are crazy as do the people of feygard. Nor and feygard disagree about everything but they both hate the "meteor people" just the same. It just adds more (in my opinion) "realness" to the game without offending real religions or people to make more religions exist in the game.
Plus when you think about it, adding more religions makes an opportunity to add new L/E items to the game.

Re: Religions of the game
Guys, I hate to burst your bubble, but there are no religions in Andor's Trail. Oskar has said as such many times. As has Scott. Conduct a forum search. You will find their comments.

Re: Religions of the game
If they have said that there is still one problem with that . There are chapels and priests, how is that not religion?

Re: Religions of the game
Well the Shadow has chapels and priests, seems like a religion to me. Elythara on the other hand, who knows? Other than the one guy in fallhaven, who didn't say much, nobody talks about him.

I read somewhere that someone is working on a quest to show the rise of the cult of elythara.

Re: Religions of the game
That'll be cool. Anyway I'm sure, by the time this game is actually done, they could work a science based religion in there. There is supposed to be a race of dwarves somewhere I think, might be a good fit for them.

Re: Religions of the game
I have heard of these elusive dwarves, and some mine maps in the future. Maybe they are related.
