Does Magic Find Really Work?

So I'm grinding for my second ROLS, and I'm already at 554 polished sparking gems with MF2. Theoretically speaking, I should've gotten my second ROLS @ 500.
My first ROLS I had to kill roughly 20,000 until I got it. I'd like to hear other's experiences.
And yes I know theoretically a person may "never" get one, or they could even get one on their first try.

Not going to get Magic Find, I have a ton of skills and I rather grind a bit more. It is not like there is anything else to do in AT

+1. I'd never get MF again, based on these results, and the fact that those two skill points would be better silent elsewhere.

Certainly MF does exactly what it should. Just depends how much you desire magic items.

MF has been coded to work but still having a Legendary item is random meaning, as you say, that you might never find it.
I wouldn't take it neither (too many people are complaining about it's uselessness).
Congratz on your second ROLS

!

If you are grinding a legendary item for levels (keeping the experience) I always take MF if I have worked 4 levels grinding for one item. I do think that MF does help because out of the 4 characters that I have the only one with a ROL has 5 points in MF the other 2 grinding for it only have 2 points in MF and no ROL. So while statistically it could be impossible to actually obtain one I think the more chances I have the better.

Thanks! Now I'm going for ElyR, which had been the most elusive of all. I must've killed about triple the statistical amount (ages ago) before giving up and still no ElyR. I'm renewing my hunt.

I used Magic Finder on my first main build but when i started my latest i decided to not use MF at all.
I currently have a ROLS and a ROL but my desire to obtain an ELYR is looooong gone.
Putting points into skills such as Magic Finder, treasure hunter, quick learner actually weakens your build.

Yea I'm grinding for it just to complete my legendary set. It's worthless to me as a weapon!
