Monster Respawn While in Battle

If monsters had a chance to respawn while you are in battle, and they come join the fray, could be an easy way to add a "hard" difficulty level option. Any thoughts?

Monster movement during battle is coming in the next release (0.7.0)

Dude, read first. The idea is to add monster respawn during battle, so that monsters who chase after you (0.7.0 yes) would get a chance to backup their comrades. I like it :-)

Yes, Thystonius is correct. I'm talking about not only Monster Movement during battle, which I know is slated for V0.7.0, but also for Monster Respawn during battle. Right now the game is set up only for monsters to respawn when not in battle.

I'm not sure if there are currently plans to make it so NPCs can also respawn while you are in combat.

That would definitively add a new challenge to the game.

IIRC ~ they did in that really harsh dev build Oskar sent out in the past...

but it might have just been that really small chance that a mob has to spawn when it dies?
i don't know, but i really don't think we want them spawning during battle when they move with purpose.

yeah I remeber that gamefile. It was almost impossible to get past lvl 3. :lol:

There are a few kinks to work out but when it's ready you guys are all in for a treat. =)

Cool, hardcore AT, looking forward to more challenge! Makes starting over fun :-)

Yes exactly guys, that's the point. It would be a very easy way to add a "hardcore" difficulty level setting prior to starting a new character.

There is a difference between "hardcore" and making something nearly impossible.

The amount of grinding that would be needed to beat that version of the game would be outta this world. Every NPC will rush you if you get too close, even beating the rat cave was a challenge (I had to grind slowly outside to gain enough levels to survive, at least to lvl 5 and that didn't help too much)
