0.7 Questions [Fiernaq]

Couple of questions concerning the latest update:

1) Do all monsters path towards the player or only certain monsters for now?
1a) Is the distance at which monsters move towards the player the same for all monsters or does it vary?

2) Is anyone currently working on an updated equipment list and if not, do we at least have a raw data dump available for all items that I could use to make a new spreadsheet with?

3) If I had a weapon and shield equipped prior to the update, do my stats change at all or is the sword+shield method basically the middle ground where you don't gain the positives or negatives of dual wielding or 2H fighting?
3a) If my primary goal is speed (# of attacks per round) which path will have the highest possible outcome: S&S, DW, or 2H?

Obviously, if there's already a well written explanation for these answers, just link the thread and I'll read it :)

If I understand questions 1 and 1a your asking if all monsters move tward you in combat and the answer is only a few and I've seen that only if the same type of monster is attacking you but I'm not 100% sure.
Answer to question 2: I think Pyro is but If not I think some1 is
To answer questions 3 and 3a no stats have changed with the update. The s&s 2h weapon and duel weilding that you are talking about are skills that we can choose to level up. As for having more attacks per round you my want shield and sword fighting style with dagger Prof. And use the qsd.

Richard Faila did a stupendous job answering #2. Far better than what I was considering (just a rewrite of the google doc).

1) Not all of them, but some... and when they do it can get a bit hairy. be careful!
2) http://andorstrail.irkalla.cz/list.php <--- I believe you found this already. =) Fantastic list!
3) If you are going for speed still then you will most likely want to use the QDS and a shield... or duel wield 2 daggers with a low attack cost.

If you are duel wielding you should work on getting the skill to level 2 as quickly as possible. At level 2 your attack cost will be equal to the weapon with the greatest Attack cost (so if you are using weapons that cost 2AP and 3AP it would cost 3AP to swing both with lvl 2)

Example:
Skill Lvl 0: AP cost equals AP of BOTH weapons, only uses 25% of off handed weapon
Skill Lvl 1: AP cost equals lowest AP + 1/2 of other weapon's AP, used 50% of off handed weapon
Skill Lvl 2: Uses Highest AP of weapons, Uses 100% of both weapons!!

Just some extra tidbits for you on question 3a Another thing to note is that the QSD has a 20% AC. Putting points into Dagger proficency (when you get it) only bumps it up by 30% of its original AC, so 6% for every point spent there. It makes more sense to put points into weapon accuracy then if you're going weapon and shield.

IMO there just aren't enough good shields in the game right now to justify weapon and shield... You simply nerf your AC by taking that route for a bonus to BC, which goes against the idea of a fast 5 attacks per round since you'll probably be missing at least 2-3 every fight. I don't have time to do an exact breakdown now but read the skills yourself and see.

I instead went dual wield. Balanced steel swords were my weapon of choice as dual wielding QSD's did not appeal to me and I couldnt find any daggers I liked. With the new skills, its actually worthwhile to wear Blackwater gear and weapons, so be sure to check it out and try it yourself. I didn't really care for the Blackwater items myself but some have tried it and liked it a lot.

By level 34 I had about 300% AC, 44% BC, and 46-60 damage (all points into damage). My skills were IF 2, WA 3. 2 points into dual wield and sword prof. The only mobs that were difficult for me were the new ones that love to gravitate towards you. All it really meant is that I had to make sure to kill certain mobs first or not rush through the map. It almost made me wish I had cleave lol, but I made it through.

If I switched to level ups in BC at level 30, by 40 I would have nearly broken 100%. At 50 I'd have 150% or so, without even gearing for BC. In my mind, it just makes the shield route look even worse.

Well with shield Prof. You gain Dr with every sp put into the skill so in theory you can get up yo 10 Dr but ill double check that.

EDIT………………
with bark skin at Max 5 plus the shield Prof. Max 2 plus serpent huelberk 2 plus boots of the guardian 1 plus remgard combat shield 1 that equals a total of 11 DR.

Very true, but when you have enough money to heal through the damage 11 DR would have soaked up, it kind of becomes irrelevant...

In the end though, it really doesn't matter since the character will almost always end up outleveling the content. If you do happen to go the shield route, let me know how you do!

My Lvl 70 is going that way. But 11 DR helps even when there are stronger enemy's (in the future) like instead of a monster doing say 50 damage he would only do 39 damage.

I beleive that is correct Sarumar, iirc the max before 0.7.0 was 13DR.
