i recently stated that i feel a huge shift in balance in the early parts of the game & i'm loving it!
around level ten i can start easily grinding the...
i just snagged 4 Regular Potions & 5 Leather Gloves in about 5 mins.
that's huge loot that early, especially now that raw meat has the potential to hurt you.

Who else has recently started playing a new game???
If you're a veteran, what changes have you made to your play style???
Newcomers, what are your most successful tactics - early... that you feel are helping most???

I am gonna go ahead and start a new guy, debating on the style still... There will be no wasted skill points this time!

no kidding...
i don't know what to spend my 3rd skill point on...
Code: Select all
lv. 5 - Increased Fortitude
lv. 10 - Regeneration
lv. 12 - ???
save it for a skill @ 15? (combat speed, weapon prof, etc)
weapon accuracy [leading to cleave - if i choose 2-Handed?]
Corpse Eater or Evasion (for ease of progress)
AHHHH!
wow - i haven't been stumped in this world for ages & it feels great!

I had the same confusion in my latest build.
at level 26 now,
used skill points as follows.
IF x1
regeneration x1
fighting style:dual wield x 1
corpse eater x2(my favourite :p)
I am so confused right now that I have one unused skill point :p
at level 32, one point to dual wield and 2 will go to combat speed

new toon, tried critical build (seriously this time), found it amazing in remgard and the spider mountains, but i'm hating it now that i'm doing Lodar's quest.
BWM is for me the n1 spot for grinding, quick sleep/ mob refresh, plenty of gold, decent XP.
Grinding the remgard coast (those guys have horribad AC, save often and you can do it at almost any level .. if you can get there) is best for pure XP, but not so for time (respawn takes quite a while) and little gold drops.
The Maze might be my next destination, not sure it beats remgard XP but those weapon drops give me TONS of money, and tbh, the aggressive mobs make grinding so much easier.
< still convinced QSD / AC / dmg / HP build beats anything else.

I've dedicated my Draco character to be a 2h weapon user and I tell you its alot harder now. Sense I started this build I want to get the fighting style up and when I came apon the choice of combat speed or fighting style I save the point from 4 lvls back and use it when I reached the Lvl I needed for said skill
But being dedicated to this fighting style is hard because I'm going for 100% in.BC so almost all my Lvl upgrades have been going for BC. I should play the game more tho lol

my new grind area is in the maze, past the snakes are the Morkin.
they give around 300xp per kill.
they only do 0-3 damage, and cannot do critical hits.
this means i waste no potions or meat at all.

I just checked the gear list again...I think it would be interesting to try and be able to dual wield the woodcutter's hatchet as early as possible....6-12 dmg per, 12-24 total, nice! But the quest to open that vendor is tough...maybe two brutal club's first! Sarumar, you like the two brutal clubs, no?
