I too picked up a skin at about 30 kills. I'm at 2xx now and am quickly losing interest. The Math says that this could easily stretch into 1-2 K attempts. I would suggest a "limit" on such extreme drops, that if a person has killed X-number of beasts without an expected drop, the drop just happens. Should be easier than adding a new map or content:
