Does lifting my coffee and doughnut to my mouth count as a workout? (No question to silly right?)

Ok ok in all seriousness... Great idea Ms P! (Sadly the days are starting to get shorter here so getting outside to exercise will get harder (or maybe require more clothing than normal).

Any good tips for ways to loosen up your arms and shoulders? Spinning staff requires some flexibility and i know when i start on Contact staff that I will need to me more limber.

Or how about a quick series of stretches to help loosen the whole body up?

((Stretching is something i am horrible at remembering to do before practice or preforming)

Bootz: Keep it up!!! :D

Msp,

Your timing could not have been better. My doctor and I want to see me lose 45 pounds. I walk a half hour/day 5/week and went out and bought a bike and plan to ride twice a week. Also, my cholesterol is higher than I want it to be, so I also need to make some changes to my diet. Any suggestions? I'm a 35 year old stress-out dad that take tremendous joy in my sweet sweet candy. Which I know I need to stop eating, but the will power is weak.
I guess I'm just looking for help with dieting in general.

ok swimming is out then pyrizzle :D lol

a great way to stretch the shoulders out is stand in a door frame grab the very centre top of the frame push your hips backwards and down supporting your weight on your heels and squeeze the shoulder blades together for a 5 count release and repeat :D this will loosen shoulder and upper lat muscles.
there are plenty of exercises to help strengthen shoulders traps and lats side raises are my favorite
grab a water bottle hold it to the side bend your arm slightly at the elbow and raise the bottle up and out till its level with your shoulder :D

Antison: Foods that are high in Antioxidants like blueberries and foods rich with Omega 3 like fish.

Foods that help lower Cholesterol: Soy, Fiber, and tea can all help. (plus they are delicious)

Oh and for that sweet tooth: Dark Chocolate (Look for 60% or higher coca) is loaded with antioxidants and can even lower blood pressure (for those times when the lil ones are driving you batty).
