I have a attack-oriented character that will be hitting level 32 soon. It already has dagger proficiency (after Charwood) and level 1 dual wield. I'm trying to decide whether to go for level 2 dual wield when I level up to 32, and also trying to decide what weapons to wield.
With a quickstrike dagger, two +6 rings of damage, and the Jewel of Fallhaven, my character is doing 17-19 points of damage with each attack, and can attack 5 times each turn, and as a result, it can do almost 100 points of damage in a single turn (assuming no DR on the victim) before the victim can strike back. So, two questions:
If I go to dual wield, is there any point buying a second quickstrike dagger? It seems like it wouldn't add much to attack damage, but it also wouldn't slow down the character's attacks..
If the character uses more-powerful daggers, like the Dagger of the Shadow Priest and the Blade of the Defiler, it will have a better chance of critical hits, but can attack only 3x/round instead of 5x/round. In your experience, is the extra damage worth the lost attacks?
Thanks in advance for any advice.

If you plan on dual-wielding, the second skill point is, well, MANDATORY !
It's like Combat Speed. You only get half-baked advantages with one point, while 2 would unleash the true power of it.
I actually waited for my 2nd Dual wield point to equip the second weapon !

If you can only attack 5 time per turn while using the QSD and JoF then that means you have less than 12 AP meaning you don't yet have 2 points in Combat Speed. If you weren't able to pick up that 2nd point in CS by level 30 (by saving a point) then you will really want to put the skill point you pick up at level 32 towards Combat Speed (2). That extra attack is worth a lot to you even if just for another chance of dealing damage.
I'll come back to answer your question later, gotta run for now.
Those 2 pages have a lot of detail on dual wielding and how it affects QSD wielders. The basic point is that it's not worth it to dual wield QSDs even with points in FS: DW.

My quickstrike dagger build does not duel wield. He instead uses a shield because it makes to sense to use 2 QSDs or another weapon and increase your ap cost.

If you are going with Duel Weilding... seriously go all the way and invest SPs to max it out quickly. It is better to get the full boost from it.
Zuk: I disagree that combat speed lvl one has half baked advantages. Combat speed 1 + Evasion 1-4 makes hit and run a better tactic when facing NPCs you can corner or cower from.

Dual wield is good for critical hit oriented builds. As it increases ECC and multiplier (?).
Damage oriented build can benefit from dual wield if he wears Blackwater dagger by multiplying daggers AC.
Blackwater misery reduces attack speed, so it will be 4 attacks instead of 6. But, with great AC advantage which BwD gives one can invest more in damage. Otherwise, you can put all 3 dualwield points in HH. Interesting if someone discovered which build is more effective.
2 BwDs build also can use all 3 move reducing items: hat, armor, boots. But QSD can benefit only from 2.

Here's what I actually found as the difference between wielding one QSD and wielding two with the level 2 dual-wield skill:
Attack chance: 178% (single), 204% (dual)
Attack damage: 17-19 (single), 17-19 (dual) (why is it the same?)
Block chance: 14% (single), -6% (dual) (the negative block chance adds up? blech!)
So the only real benefit of the QSD in dual-wield mode is the extra attack chance.
