I've found this type of challenge made by players of other games and had fun with them.

To keep it short, you start a new character, with key restrictions in mind. For example, in Disgaea people made nintendo themed challenge characters: Mario could only fight using fists, and fire magic. Link could fight using a sword, or throwing the explosive support monsters in place of bombs.

The cute game themes are not a must though. For my first challenge character, I will play as a vegan. My player will not be allowed to eat meat or dairy items, and definitely not bonemeal potions. It's not really possible to do all the quests without killing animals, but needless animal cruelty should always be refused. So, no cheap cuts quest.

Please feel free to post new ideas, or tell us how a challenge is going. I will update to list the challenges mentioned later.

Challenges:

Vegan - no meat, no animal products, no bonemeal. Refuse quests involving animal cruelty (if there is a choice).

Potion phobic - no potions of any kind ever.

The rotworm knight - heh, you can probably guess.

I absolutely love this idea ! Would make a good basis for some achievement system ! The rotworm one would be a pain though.... excellent idea !

It's tough, but do-able. =)

There is content out now that would be impossible at level 1 (well... w/o Load/reoad cheating maybe )

load/reload isn't cheating

with the amount of saving / reloading needed to survive the lvl 1 challenge, I'd consiter it cheating; or being reallllllllllllllllllllllllllllly sneaky.
