It feels like a fail...

I dont get it. Now i got my dagger and with the necklace of fallhaven i can strike 3 times per round. My AC is 104 %. I fought 5 times an enemy that haves no BC. In 3 of this 5 fights, the first 2 strikes did not hit. For me that means your AC calculation is, It cannot be that i farm hours and hours only for minimal effort in game, after 3 days playing it i allready get annoyed. Dear Dev, that doesnt make fun. There is way too much farming included to come ahead in this game, i also will call it imbalanced. Enemys i can take care on, do give not enough XP and gold. The other enemys are to strong to fight them effectively. It cannot be that after 3 days of playing i am still at the same farm places and enemys, going further only means death. This balancing doesnt make fun. I apologize for my bad english.

1. The quickstrike dagger plus the jewel of Fallhaven equals 5 strikes with 10 AP, not 3.

2. The attack chance calculation is strange.
Look here for further information. http://andorstrail.com/viewtopic.php?f= ... ack+chance

3. Andor's Trail is very... Grindy. Just like other role playing games. Final fantasy has a big element of grinding. It's to make every level up feel great. It makes you want to progress forward. Every bit of progress feels good.
The same goes for Andor's Trail.

4. 3 days? You need to give the game time to mature. When I first played the game for a day. I almost deleted it. I thought it stunk. The game matured into a fabulous game about after level 20.

5. Yes the baddies give very limited xp and gold but that makes all the hard earned progress that you made feel good. I explained that in 3.

I only get 3 strikes out per round, with the cost of 3 AP per strike.
Grindy... it feels more like beeing, sorry, screwed. Because its not funny to go one step further in the same area only to feel that the other monster in here will make you reload your last save. So doing 1 step more is possibility of being... screwed. Thats what i feel the most time when play and it doesnt make fun.
Today i had big effort in game, already reached black mountain so far. But it didnt was fun. If i am on half health, better not try go further cause next enemy could be the reload button winner. And due to better not spending money in potions, i have to use my regeneration skill together with meat, waiting for full health so that i can proceed. Boring. And annoying. And if i want to spend gold for potions, i wont have enough for better gear later. So i have to make use of regeneration, that is a must. So i spend hours for annoying grinding with the feeling of being screwed anytime AND must spend "hours" for waiting that regeneration refills my health that i can go 1 or 2 steps further, only for repeating this boring procedure after reaching around half health.
I think it would be better for gameplay and fun in game, if balancing will get an update. Its ok to play a copetitive game that isnt done after a few days, but if i spend my lifetime into it, it shoupd bring me a lot of fun. With this actual balancing i dont have fun. Too often i must repeat grinding, too often i must reload my savedata and too often i must spend time with doing nothing cause im in regeneration and have to wait until full health. If that would be fixed, i am sure the most of players will enjoy this game much more.

Sorry for doublepost. Yeah, balancing is what the game needs, if someone asks me. Now im at an area that holds 2 different monsters. Young white whyrm and aeolithe or something like this. If i fight aeo, i dont have to worry about my health cause it doesnt really damage me. I only have to smash the screen with my finger around 20 times and aeo goes visiting the shadow. Funny finger use included. But be aware to stand next to the whyrm! Even with full health in 4 of 5 fights i will lose. Nobody can tell me that this is normal. First, the more i proceed, the more often i have to smash the screen to beat a monster. Boring and annoying. And second, how can it be that in the same area were 2 different enemys, one with no problem on beating it and the other with almost no chance to beat it? Seriously? Thats not really fun and i think i better quit this game.

It's okay if you do not like this game. I don't like first person shooter games! You don't like Andor's Trail. You CAN quit if you want.

Don't rapidly tap the screen. Go to preferences and click combat speed instant.

Then when you battle tap the attack button. Spaming the attack button in the top left is much faster than random tapping the screen.

Ps. Please write your statistics in your signature just to see if you are week or the game is unfair.
More information.

Hello StealthPilskin, and welcome to the forums.

I noticed you said you were not buying potions in order to save money for gear. I would advise against this strategy. By spending a lot of money on potions, you'll grind a lot faster, thus making more money and experience in the same time. After a while, you'll start forgetting about how much money you have. Most of the best gear comes from loot anyway.
Health potions, food or bonemeal, make your choice, but use some. I'm sure the game will become much more enjoyable for you.

Flaming and StealthPilskin,

The game has Turn Based attack. It does not matter 'how fast your fingers are.' You get X# of attacks then the creature does. Then you. Then it. This goes till one of you dies. If you are not strong enough to be fighting a particular creature, it does not matter how fast you tap the screen. You either need A LOT of health potions, or it's going to kill you. Simple as that.

StealthPilskin,

Do you play many RPG's (Final Fantasy, Zelda, Dungeons and Dragons, Elder Scrolls)? MMORPG's (WoW, Everquest, LoTR)? They all have the same format.

1. Level up. If you try to venture too far early on in the game, something out there is going to kill you. That is what these games are about: Character Development.

2. Do the quests. Any and all that you can find. Some of them even give you items that are better then what you can buy. In fact, you passed by one of them on your way to the mountain. Go back to the bottom and through the mine. On the road leading there from your town, look on the southern border. You will find a guard who warns you not to go past him into the prison. Do it anyway. The prison is full of undead that have much hp, but are fairly easy to hit. You will find an item that starts a quest with the guard. Finishing this quest will give you one of the best swords you can find that early in the game.

3. There are no short-cuts. You are not going to just run through and beat the game. In fact, this game has no 'end boss' yet. So you can't beat it even if you want to. If that is the kind of game you are looking for, go back to your platform games like Mario.
