I'm working on the area east of the aidem camp
so please make it reserved
Yeah that's dangerous. That's going to take a lot of coordination with the person that's working on the maps just east of that area. You need to coordinate with that author in order to make sure all of the maps align and you have all the topography correctly built
I recommend that you get on Discord and you can talk to the author of those maps currently being worked.
And to reserve an area, you must have a GitHub account with an active project that our tool can link to to show up on this map.
who is working on that area ?
and also im planing to add a desert in that area does it
fit in that area and if not is there a place for a desert?

No, we don't want a desert there.
Join us on Discord and I will unite you with the person working on all those maps to the east

I've already joined the discord
if there isn't a place for a desert in that area then is there a place for a desert and if there is where it?

Honestly, I don't know where there is a good place for a desert right now.
Maybe far west of Stoutford?

I still maintain that to differentiate it from other major cities, the best place to use the Desert Tileset would be Nor City.

We would have to place Nor City very far from existing content for a desert to be believable. Then we would have to fill everything in between with a gradual change from forest or grass to desert. That's a lot of work.

There are only two cities in the game so to "differentiate" won't take much effort. You don't need a desert for that.

To transition between anywhere on the current worldmaps and a desert, I think a savanna or brushland/dryland would make sense, but it would probably require some other trees or ground textures to be made. When it comes to placement, there is something said about bogs, marshes and grassland to the west (of Stoutfort?), I always imagined a desert to the south-west roughly in that area.

i love different tilesets around map but desert tiles may be bad for eye candy. not sure if i want to see a whole area with blank yellowish tiles. no vegetation makes it difficult to create different sprites. in plains or forest, there are many different sprites that makes it look nice and various (grass, stone, bush, tree, mushroom, flower, etc). you may need some extra idea to make it look not-boring (don't know what it is). what extra can be at desert?
for example, mountain tiles are also boring for me.

Cactii, Dunes, Palm trees, Oases, Rocks, Ruins, Crashed Spaceships (I jest), Camel bones...
