Is there an average number of kills to get it?
So far I have:
Polished Rings 315
Jinxed Rings 39
Ixthiel Guardians killed 1140.
I only have 1 point in magic.

Drop chance of shadowfang should be 1/1000 or .1%. Sounds like you're having bad luck, like I am with getting a gem of warmth on this build.

Just grind a little bit more and you will get one for sure.

Making up for the good luck I had when I got second RoLS after only 111 kills. And when I got GoLF after only two hours of grinding. Not giving up I plan on getting all of the Extraordinary and Legendary items.

arg the little gods of luck must be really mad at me.
1645 dead Izthiel Guardians and no ShaF. On a good note I have gained a ton of levels.Up to lvl 61 now.
Spoke too soon.
Strong Izthiel 2795
Guardian Izthiel 1661
Polished Rings 476
Jinxed Rings 54
Net result 1 ShaF. And 9 1/2 levels gained.
Now to go kill Chaos Beasts.
