Definitely get rid of the club! Use a sword, seeing that you are have the Sword & Shield-skill. The Balanced Steel Sword you can get from Minarra at the Crossroads tavern is the best sword you can get at ow levels, due to the incredibly high AC (though, it is a bit costy).

As for Rings, either go two Villain's Rings or Villain's + Ring of the rotector from Vilegard.
And, in Fallhaven, you should get the Jewel of Fallhaven. Another possibility is getting the dagger from the Thief in Fallhaven tavern. With the JoF, it will get you another attack (only use the dagger until you can get the Balanced Steel Sword).

Also, you should consider acquiring a new Armor. I suggest that you get the Lightweight Chainmail from Minarra at the Crossroads.
As with everything in this game, everything is either hard to get (grind for hours and hours) or incredibly expensive!
Kill puppies or grind in Gargoyle Cave (you should be strong enough, backed-up with a few potions at hand, to grind for xp and RoLS there).
Money is really important early on (and really insignificant later on)!

Well I farm at catacombs in fallahaven and I make money from health potions and gloves that monster's drop. Hehe

When equiped:
Increases attack cost by 2
Increases block chance by 22
Raises damage resistance by 1

At least you shouldn't use it until you might get the specialization for heavy armor and even then you'll possibly find better options
Increasing the attack cost by two ap is a huge draw back, even if the block chance and damage reduce aren't that bad, especially in the beginning.

you should sell the stone cuirass if you don't want to go along with heavy armors. and you can buy some good light armors from minnara in crossroad guardhouse untill you get serpent's hauberk from green maze.
