2017 Edit:
Voom wrote:Concerning the inventory and skill layouts, I think it should be in another thread, a quick one. I have an idea of organizing skills as if you were adding spoilers in the forum, but for each heading (offense, defense, etc.).
I'd like to hear your suggestions and ideas.

The following are some images (both portrait & landscape mode).

Ok, thx :)

This is my suggestion:

Offense (#) >
Defense (#) v
Dodge #
Bark Skin #
Evasion #
Taunt #
Criticals (#) >
Immunity (#) >
Utility (#) >
Advanced (#) >
Proficiency (#) >

# = number of skill points placed

It reduces clutter and is organized.

Certainly doable.
Honestly now that I think about it, it seems hard to find any other design that wouldn't suck.
(at least to me XD )

Lol, but you're still open for other suggestions I bet.

You betcha. ;P

Although really this is already a major improvement over the singleton list atm.

Where does an item go if it is both a usable item and a quest item? For example, bread for probably the very first quest, "breakfast bread", or mead for the "drunken tale" quest?
But, I am VERY excited for a change/upgrade to the inventory list and skill list.

We're all excited!

If something is both X & Y, then it will be in both lists.
Any other way of doing it would require prioritizing one category over another which is just... I don't know.

Also, weapons & armor are mutually exclusive.
And I don't think currently there are any equipable weapons/armour that are also usable (aka consumable).

Side Note. Quest items are actually defined by their yellow-background.
The bread for the first quest is not technically considered a quest item.

The button now has a bit of a margin.

Here's what I did for landscape.

More structure in inventory I often wished too!
I'd propose "armour & clothing", "usable & food"
But maybe not as drop down menu but as a list of icons? A picture of a shirt says more than 1000 words ;)

But most of all I wish to have the new added items at the top.

For inventory this should fit. Skills might be more difficult.

Very useful, love it.

I like the picture idea, but has to look really good.

Newly added items should go on top, I agree.

As you also mentioned inventory sorting in your other thread:
There has already been some code written to sort the inventory
by different criteria. I don't know, if it is still usable, since that post
is some three years old, but perhaps you could take a look at it.

Mabe it is useful.
