Is there a way to make the AP be lessened. I can take out armor and learn to be without armor (even light armor) but would it help ?

Currently, the AP cost of item use during combat (drinking a potion, equipping a new weapon or piece of armor) never changes. However, there are ways to increase your available AP. Lightening your load or taking off armor doesn't help.

Jewel of Fallhaven / Marrowtaint (Attack Cost -1)
If you want to refill your AP while battling groups of monsters you can also learn CLEAVE.

Marrowtaint is the better version of the Jewel of Fallhaven.
You earn it when siding with the witch Algangror in the hut near Remgard.
Choose wisely: upgrading some of your equipment when siding with Remgard or Marrowtaint.
