Help with Hirathil

Hello,
havn't been here for a while. My phone broke an AT was the biggest lost (I didn't want to restart).
But now I'm back and played a little, got my first RolS (so I played no just a little), gave up on a second one and followed the Main quest.
I fought my way through the geen maze and then met the Hirathil ghost.
Oh my, oh my...
I never felt so unprepared in a game.
In the signature you can see my stats. I'm getting though rather good, at least I thought i did.
The green maze itself was not too hard.
But when I entered the caves I survived barely a second fight/ enemy (bats are not counting).
I did so little damage!
So I went back up and gained two levels (one was almost done anyways), invested the points in damage 2x an one SP in Specialisation: Dual Wield.
But even then it made barely a difference: I sneaked around, avoiding fights and the ones I had to take I won by chance.
I don't get further than the second room on the second level of the cave, when 4 or five surround me before I can even finish one. I'm rather frustrated. Grinding for the RolS was fun in comparison.
What am I supposed to do? Any hints? I think I need to make more damage but how to achive that?
Thanks for anything that might help me
Karlo

1. Make sure you have done any possible quest before trying the green maze.
2. Have enough bonemail-potions for quick healing.
3. Try to avoid beeing surrounded by the ghosts, get some walls around you. (I did get surrounded by 8 ghosts - they killed me in one round)
4. Try the attack and flee tactic or have around 150 LP to take some hits.
If you still have trouble, try hunting for legendaries or weapons that heal when hitting/killing, optimize your skill points to have as much AP over to hit and heal and the higher AC/BC.
The blue ones are weaker than the green.
As I don't have a clue what your equipment is (only RolS is clear to me) I can't tell you which would be better.
Hope that helps

you are lvl 45 and it looks like you underestimated the damage points. in the green maze most of the monsters are swarming type so having high damage with low AP using weapon will help like flagstones pride or BSS. and now to lvl up you need to kill more so try other areas like remguard.

Get another RoLS and get the Heavy Plated Gloves for some more dmg. Criticals ain't gonna help.

Yes, I agree that your damage is the problem. It's rather low. Your AC is very high, and your BC is pretty good too. You should put at least the next few level ups into AD.

Having figured out your abbreviations:
The Hirathil are immune to critical hits, so switch Flagstone's pride to another Balanced steel sword (I switch between DoSP and BSS for this reason).
Switch the ProB to the Villain's ring (Crossroads guardhouse), for the same reason as above.
You have Light armour proficiency, but you are wearing a Heavy iron skullcap. You would be much better off with an Enhanced Combat Helmet (Remgard). It has the same BC, 7% AC, and it's light armour.

My tactic for the Hirathil (and other very nasty monsters) is to run in and attack. I attack twice, and then flee back to the doorway or another safe spot. I do that many times, but I don't kill anything. I just knock their HP down until they are close to death. I do that for every monster I can get to (if I engage with one that's already close to death, I disengage immediately). When all the monsters are severely weakened I go in and kill them all, and move to the next safe spot. It helps to have several levels of the Evasion skill for this tactic, but that's not a necessity for it to work.

Welcome to the Hilrathi-Hateclub! ;)
Had my problems there too! I basically saved at every screen-entrance (and sometimes even in the middle). Regnerated to full (meat or if I didn't want to wait health positions) and then stepped very carefully! Somebody already mentioned that you should use the surroundings. I sometimes tried to get to one single enemy and kill it in 2 turns (in some cases my damage was enough for 1 round, but rare). And every other enemy had to be so far away, that it couldn't join the fight with one move-turn. If the first is killed, the others "ignore" you!
To do similar things, you really need damage!
Also: When I first went in, I farmed 200 meat and 200 regular health potions! Be prepared! (but you have a RolS, so at least the potions should be there ;))

Hello Kater Karlo,

the hirathil have damage resistance around 10 to 14 damage points.
Means, you hit only with 2 to 14 points AD. Since they have around 80 HP, you would need approx 10 hits respective 3 to 5 rounds to kill a hirathil. Meanwhile the hirathil does enough damage to kill you. And that is only one hirathil. Since they like to surround you, you won't have a real chance to get through the caves at the moment.

My advice:
get (at least) 10 more levels, increase your AD and invest some skill points in Increase fortitude, so your gain higher HP.
Try to get the skill Verspotten (guess you're German, aren't you?), so your enemies AP gets a +2 penalty when missing with an attack (a hirathil may attack only 2 times instead of 3 times - makes quite some difference).

Good point from Usirim about DR. There are very few monsters with a DR higher than the Hira'thil, and with one exception they have much lower HP. That one exception though, is very nasty indeed.
21 DR, 263 HP, and several other nasty "features". With your current AD it will take you, on average, 67 hits to kill it. You will not survive that long.
So time to get yourself a lot more AD!
