Axe Wielding Vampire

I've been thinking about building a character centering around axe wielding and vampire traits. My plan would be to go with the Shadow of the Slayer and the Shadowstalker. Both giving 1 HP/kill. What is nice about the Slayer is that teaming it up with the JoF will allow me 2 attacks/rounds (6/12) and will eliminate my need to use the Combat Speed skill. Freeing-up those skill points to be used on the Heavy Armor Proficiency or Corpse Eater skills.

What do you think?

An axe wielding vampire. I like it :D

You could invest the 2 skill points in regeneration. That would further boost your HP recovery.

How about dual wield blade of the defiler (+1 hp on kill) and barbed dagger (50% bleeding for 5 rounds), then go all dr equipment including the necklace of the protector. You would get 3 attks per round, still get a chance for crits...

Duke,
That is a good idea, but I already have 2 characters duel wielding daggers and none carrying an axe. I want to go the route of an axe swinger.

My new hero's name is Nelo (Italian vampire name) and he is already @ level 12 and has Increased Fortitude, Regeneration, and Corpse Eater. No axe yet as I'm still trying to buy the JoF.

Ah, gotcha. Well, then I like your idea, because I was thinking of building a character that would dual wield the axe of whirlwind and the axe of fear, for the conditions, but does the benefit of speed, +2ap, help you much when your attack cost is 6? If not, then axe of fear with any number of other axes, Light Black Axe for the AC and crits, or Woodcutter's hatchet for the awesome 6-12 dmg! Yep, I'm gonna do it too Anti!

The Shadow of the Slayer has an attack cost of 7, but with the JoF it becomes 6. Add in the +2AP that the axe provides, then you get a total of 12 AP which allows you 2 attacks/round without having to use skills points in Combat Speed.

I am not interested in this axe. It has a negative affect on BC which I will not tolerate with an axe. Plus, 1-2 AD on an axe? Seems really under powered to me.

I agree. Nice damage points. Maybe duel wielding it?

For those who care about how I'm building this character or for those who are looking for something to read...
I'm currently at lvl 16. I haven't ventured north of Loneford, west of the Highway man, or east of Vilgrad yet. I've been grinding for meat to sell for gold. I've optained my end-game (as of 0.7.1) helmet (Heavy Steel Skullcap) and 1 Ring of the Protector. Currently grinding to buy a second. Then I will venture into the Gargoyle cave and stay long enough to build my nest-egg and rock collection (using for those hard to see places). I don't care to grind for a RoLS. I will then venture to the prison and then off to Blackwater region to get my end-game axe.

HP 60
AP 3/10
AC 126
AD 11-15
CHS 9
CM 2.0
ECC 8
BC 30

How I got here so far:
Levels-ups
1. AD
2. AD
3. AD
4. AD
5. AC
Increased Fortitude
6. AD
7. AC
8. HP
Regeneration
9. HP
10. AC
11. AC
12. HP
Corpse Eater
13. HP
14. AD
15. AC
16. AD
Saving Skill Point

Future:
17. AC
18. AD
19. AC
20. AD
Increased Fortitude & Regeneration

Skill points earned between 20 and 36 will be saved for 4 points in Heavy Armor Prof.

How many levels do you think you want to get to make Corpse Eater pay off with extra swings per round after a kill?

Are you thinking of Cleave?

If you mean Cleave, then none is my answer. In order for Cleave to be helpful, I would need 3 levels of it. No thanks.
If you mean Corpse Eater, then I am not sure. Maybe I'll use 2 more points into it after getting 4 levels of the heavy armor prof. but I have not thought that far ahead.
