Marrowtaint, of course. But if you kill Alglglr Algongror, JoF is the next best.

The NoUD is a great item. In fact, when it was introduced I modified an existing build to use it and I built a brand new character centered around it. but I've said it many times before and I'll say it right now. The marrowtaint is the best item in this game.

There are other necklaces that are good, but nothing better than Marrowtaint.

But IMO the bonuses beyond JoF are marginal enough by the time you can get to Remgard that I would never base my roleplaying choices on making such a small upgrade.

IMO, JoF followed by NoUD are the most useful necklace in this game. Marrowtaint may be the better but it take so long to reach whereas JoF is just next village. So it is useful in nearly entire game. I don't think my lvl 25 character would have survived in charwood and completed that first charwood quest without NoUD, so there is that. I haven't reached in remgard yet so I can't say marrowtaint is most useful.
