There are quite a few items that I wish could be better.

Example:
- Blackwater set. Remove the 1 AP cost. Would be great for endgame aggresive fighting style. More good reason to use these daggers over Quickstrike Dagger.
- Black Defender. Considering it's extraordinary so it's a meh shield. I wish it had more block chance so can use it instead of other better common shields. Or better chance for Fortified defense after every kill.

Of course you can point out reasons why such items still are solid endgame.

Without the AP cost the Blackwater set would be OP.
Which shield do you consider better than the BD?

Ok. Have looked through shields and BD is better than I thought. There is a shield with 4 more block chance but worse attack & crit chance. Haven't checked latest shops yet so idk if there is better.

There is a shield which you can get in Guynmart castle. It's quite good, probably the best shield in the game unless you go for Remgard combat shield, but it can only be obtained if you don't go for Marrowtaint, which is better than any shield.

The Black Defender is the best shield. It is an extraordinary item you have to grind for so you may not want to get it and stick with the one from the castle

The new Hunter's Sword, if it had criticals would rock. Although even without it is a great sword.

The best non-crit weapon is Lifetaker so far. The best crit weapon is the dagger of shadow priest. But both require rather high level to obtain. Until that, flagstone pride is the best weapon with crit and balanced steel sword is best without crit. I prefer to have both and switch between them when I go to dungeons with crit-immune enemies.

It has stats similar to Guynmart shield except AC penalty is 4 instead of 6. I think that it's much easier to grind for one extra level in Charwood mine and spend it on AC than to go back and forth through nasty slime cave hundred times.
