its already hard enough to play as a unarmed character because stat wise it seems im inferior to all other types of characters (sword and shield users, crtitcal hit users, etc) i see little advantage in being an unarmed user (and i love being an unarmed character, it matches me very well) but its still very difficult

We are actively talking about enhancements to unarmed. I already suggested this critical hit capability. You never know...

Some specially designed fingernails might produce critical scratches

Unarmed and unarmored specializations would be nice as well.
