I suppose this post has two questions.

1. Why the Farmer's flail is considered Quarterstaff as oppose to mace (or whatever else)?
2. Since there is weapon category of Pole weapon, wouldn't Quarterstaff be better considered as part of pole weapon instead of its own category of "Quarterstaff"? I guess it is, then, hard to decide whether it is part of blunt weapon proficiency or pole arm proficiency? Any weapon experts around?

As per Falothen dialog, Quarterstaves fall under the blunt category.

A pole weapon has something sharp on the end of the pole.
