Magic Finder Made Easy
This is a chart I made to explain the drop chances of Extraordinary and Legendary items in Andors Trail. This includes an explanation of the drop chance of Magic Finder levels (lvls) 0-10. This also explains 50% drop chance up to (as close to 100%) as you can get. Enjoy.

Ever wanted to calculate the chances of receiving a Legendary or Extraordinary item based on how many monsters you've killed, even after multiple Magic Finder levels throughout hunting them down?
Look no further!
The below spreadsheet uses the Inclusion Exclusion Principle to determine the exact chance of obtaining the item you've been hunting for, even if you had multiple levels of Magic Finder throughout your hunt. The only thing u will need to know, is approximately how many monsters you killed per Magic Finder level. So keep track! Enjoy!!

DISCLAIMER: The spreadsheet rounds up, so if you kill so many monsters that the spreadsheet claims you have a 100% chance of obtaining the item, it is incorrect. You can only obtain a 99.999999999% chance of obtaining the items if you have under Magic Finder 18 for Extraordinary items and 198 for Legendary.

The main point is that the monsters you've already killed don't count. You're always starting from zero, no matter how many hundreds or thousands you've already killed.
But I agree that these kinds of calculations can be fun, if only to get a sense in retrospect of how far your experience was from the centre of the curve.

The problem with calculating your chances and tracking kills is that it only serves to elicit an emotional response from your brain, generally a negative one. As the number of kills goes up, you stop thinking logically and start to foster a sense of "I am due based on the math".
Over 13 years of playing the game I've probably spent about 50% of my total playtime in that cave (because I wait for respawns up to a certain player level). I no longer think of it as work or dread it or even bother with keeping track much of kills. The process is like an old, worn blanket.. comforting. I'm living for the experience and the payoff at the end is gravy.
