S/He asked what we thought. I answered. Also, s/he's potentially cheating other people out of a positive game experience when they realize cheating is viable.

I'm not criticizing you for your thought. I'm just asking you why you think he's cheating?Aereas wrote: Sat Jan 11, 2025 4:48 pm S/He asked what we thought. I answered. Also, s/he's potentially cheating other people out of a positive game experience when they realize cheating is viable.
He's not cheating anybody out of any positive game experience.
The only person he's really kind of cheating is us game content creators

I agree with Wikipedia about cheating with Andor's Trail:
"Using exploits in single-player modes is usually considered to be simply another form of exploring the game's content unless the player's accomplishments are to be submitted competitively"
So don't get upset, everyone is allowed to have their own way of playing.

Re: Extraordinary and legendary items
Cheating has always been viable. There was one player that admitted to hacking the savegame to get RoLS. Almost certainly others that have not admitted it. That's OK, as long as they don't post here or on Discord that they got it legitimately .Aereas wrote: Sat Jan 11, 2025 4:48 pm S/He asked what we thought. I answered. Quick reminder that AT is open source, so anyone with even a beginner knowledge of Java (or even just JSON) can tweak the code to give themselves anything they want. There's no need to come up with these elaborate cheats

Re: Extraordinary and legendary items
Something that I was thinking reaching 16.000 kills today for the ring .
My 1st char is 87 lvl with 11.600 kills and mf 3 no legendary ring .
My current permadeath char is 54 lvl with 16214 kills and mf 2 .
Would be nice after and x amount of kills like 10k,15k or 20k kills a significant buff in drop.
Reading that the mf 3 is 0.025...again is pretty low and rng sucks with such percentage. Wasting mf points to increase the chance while remain at such low % it doesn't have any impact at all .

Re: Extraordinary and legendary items
If MF works as advertised, I'd have to disagree with u about it not having much impact. It just depends on how many skill points u really want to invest in MF. I am probably one of MF biggest critics, however, even as MF currently exists, if you invest heavily in it, and it works as advertised, it should definitely increase your chances significantly. From what I understand, legendary and Extraordinary items were created as filler content for between updates. This means that the grinding and time u spend to get even a single legendary, (assuming you don't use the save/reload method), will make your character OP for most of the game content anyways. With this in mind, look at legendaries more as collectibles. Is it nice to go through the game with an ROLS? Yes. Is it nice to go through the game with a ROL? Yes lolz, but that's not their purpose.Akira wrote: Tue Jan 14, 2025 11:03 pm Something that I was thinking reaching 16.000 kills today for the ring .

Back to responding to your criticism about MF. I agree that as MF stands, it does not add a largely significant difference in finding items without many levels, which the lvls alone make you OP for most, if not all, the game content (unless of course you don't have Increased fortitude, and only invest in hp as you lvl up. After 30 lvls this could make you a bit tanky, but your ac, bc, and damage would all still be at the same level as when u started, essentially meaning your just a low lvl with a lot of hp). However with the knowledge that these items are essentially collectibles, rather than intended for use with current game content, apart from the ROLS which is included in a quest in one of the earlier quests of the game (However this is an easter egg, and simply a cool little extra thing to the game, so it doesn't really count), we can argue that MF is intended to simply drain your levels if you want a significant chance increase, for something to do between updates. If this is the case, than it works as intended.
As far as your chances with MF 2 and 3 and 16k kills. You can use the spreadsheet link I posted a couple pages back to really see the difference that MF makes (if it works as claimed- I'm still doing research regarding that, to ensure there are no bugs). You can input any number under any MF from 0 to 20, and it will do the calculations for the probability of obtaining the item for you. Check the screenshots at the bottom of this post to see an example. DISCLAIMER- it rounds up to the nearest 100th place behind the decimal, so even though it says 100% under Extraordinary, it's actually only 99.999999%.
It's important to ask however, did you start with magic finder 2 and 3 or upgrade as you went. To be honest, I had an account where I killed 14,250 monsters before I got the ROLS. I started with MF 2, and ended with MF 8. I achieved the absolute MAXIMUM chance before I got the ring. 99.999999999% (you can't get 100%). So the fact that you have over 16k kills with MF3 (over 98% if you had MF3 the entire time, and about 94% if you had 4000 kills each from MF 0 to MF 3), leads me to believe that my previous theory, regarding the fact that something is up with the ROLS drop chance, is actually true. This is now 3 accounts between the two of us where all 3 accounts had about a 95% chance or higher of obtaining the item, and only the account that achieved maximum probability gained the item. This leads me to believe with even more certainty that there are shenanigans afoot regarding the Rols.
As far as Magic Finder goes, I'm starting to believe that works as advertised. Because after 1119 kills, I got the ROL (Rapier of lifesteal). I had MF 8 the entire time, so my chance of getting the item was almost 43%. This is much more reasonable than our 3 accounts being over 95% and not getting the Rols.
I would love to see you join the AT discord so we can talk more about your ROLS hunt. If you join the discord, my username on it is Doc. If you don't wanna join the AT discord, u can dm me on discord. My user is z.ebah . Hope to see u in there so we can combine our efforts for science! (Or at least so I can get your data for my science lolz)
Happy hunting!

Re: Extraordinary and legendary items
No, it is not available except by extremely rare drop. RoFLS can be obtained via other means (in fact, that's the only way to get it), but you can't get RoFLS unless you already have RoLS.Anku wrote: Wed Jan 15, 2025 10:37 am apart from the ROLS which is included in a quest in one of the earlier quests of the game (However this is an easter egg, and simply a cool little extra thing to the game, so it doesn't really count)
It is as advertised. Just a 1/10,000 drop chance. No more, no less.Anku wrote: Wed Jan 15, 2025 10:37 am This leads me to believe with even more certainty that there are shenanigans afoot regarding the Rols.

Re: Extraordinary and legendary items
Hopefully going to get it at some point , currently reaching 56lvl and going to upgrade the Mf.
Spending like 150-200 kills per day, eventually I believe is going to .
Other than some specific points like , extra health per lvl and combat speed the lvl up add enough of secondary stats like Bc and acc, and health isn't the problem as long you obtain early fortitude.( The only problem is that I'm playing on permadeath ,)
hope to see more legendary items for grind
