It's just that. A 1/1000 chance. It's random.

In what way?

Probability of find an extraordinary item > 2397 kills = 90.912% chance!

Doesnt that mean the probability of dropping the item is 1 out of 2000 possible chances?

If the game is rolling it 1000 times then the chances should become more than 1 IMO

No. The probability is 1/1000.

No matter how many times you roll a die, you are never guaranteed to get a 6 (or any other specific number). You could roll it 1 billion times and never get a six. That's not likely, but it's possible. And if you do roll it 1 billion times without getting a six, the chance you will get a six on the next roll is still 1/6. Probability has no memory.

So, it's basically a d1000 roll each time I kill a monster, or a d6 dice rolled 1000 times?

In any case, is it possible to change the chance of getting a successful roll through MF by increasing the %chance for every skill point?

MF is seen by many as an ineffective skill in its current form. When you have such a large number of die rolling to arrive at a chance of getting a successful drop then it is justified to request a change to MF in order to make the grinding process less frustrating and more rewarding for the enormous time required to hunt all these items.

Sure, it's not necessary and all. But, if it's part of the game and players wish to have these items then the developers should make the whole exercise to be practically fun and not unnecessarily frustrating.

It can be done easily via a significant change to MF skill

EDIT:

Got it!

Hunter sword finally dropped!

Total kills:
Demonic arulir - 1772
Nephrite Gornaud - 1182

NOTE  - The opening post omits the fact in the description of the hunter sword about restoring AP. This is a surprise. This makes the weapon all the more awesome :o

I should try to get another one for dual wielding purposes.

Will dual wielding result in double restoration of 2-6AP ?!?

It's a d1000 roll. One chance in 1000.

You do get more out of the Cleave skill than the sword though.

Takes 3 skill points. If I had known about the sword's ability, I would have spend the time grinding for it instead. I am going to get another one to check the dual wielding results.
Bye, Cleave. I am never going to waste my skill point on you!

Hello RIJackson,

Please guide if Cleave skill and the sword AP effect stack?

Thanks,

Yes, cleave & sword effect stack.. I get 7-9 AP on every kill. (with 2 points in cleave skill)

..still grinding for my 2nd hunters sword, so dunno if sword effect stacks in a dual wield scenario..
