Blackwater misery is supposed to be a plethora of warts and swellings in the palms and knees. The people of the Blackwater Mountain settlement are seeking a cure for this ailment, since most of them want to get rid of this.

Meanwhile, if you have contracted this condition - these blisters and warts cause your combat abilities to be severely reduced. You should seek to either remove the items that cause it, or find a way to use it to your advantage.

Not telling more

Do not open.
Hey!!! :o
Ok, here you go: :D

I think I got it:
On average the items with Blackwater misery are better than other items. But the curse weakens them, so every single item is useless if you equip it alone. I think Oskar has the following idea behind Blackwater misery: The effect doesn't stack. (Like the Regeneration effect of the RoLS does not stack if you wear 2 RoLS) So if you equip 3 or 4 of these items they will give you greater bonuses than the curse can take away.

If you are not Oskar:
Why are you reading this? ;)

Are my thoughts going to the right direction?

Samuel,
What items did you have in mind that are cursed with Blackwater Misery, when you suggested, "if you equip 3 or 4 of these items they will give you greater bonuses than the curse can take away."? I am only aware of, and have collected the Blackwater Iron Sword & the Blackwater Dagger, only 1 of which you may equip as a weapon.

1) weapon: Blackwater dagger, Blackwater poisoned dagger or Blackwater iron sword
2) armour: Blackwater leather armour
3) cap: Blackwater leather cap
4) ring: Blackwater ring of combat (you may equip this twice)

You can get most of it in the Blackwater settlement.

Samuel,

Thank you. These items were not available to me
as I chose not to attack the settlement of Prim. Probably the reason Oskar chose the Smiley that he did when offering his "hint". Even without knowing the stats of these other items, I'd be inclined to agree with your deduction.

SHOOT!!! I went with Prim and the shops suck there even after they are available to you. The only good item I got was for ....
killing the Blackwater king. He drops the ring of shadow embrace, which grants 15 HPs, 2 AD and 10 AC. Does the Prim king drop anything if you kill him?

IMO combining all the items you can get in Blackwater settlement is not better than the ones you can get in shops of 6.08. I described only a way to make the greatest benefit of the items. (the benefit itself is not very big... :? )

I for myself sided with no one yet. I currently only level up my hero, and do no quests beside "Inn"-Quests.
So I have all possibilities and I don't have to restart the game to try a new way.

i agree with Samuel.
I've looked at equiping all the blackwater misery cursed items but i dont see that they'd be any better than the equipment i'm already using from the 6.08 release. There's no critical hit chance or multiplier so why would i want to give that up for an inferior weapon, just to add some extra armour stats.
Similarly, the Shadows Rage sword I see as inferior to my trusty Flagstone's Pride.

So, so far in the new quests I'm yet to find an item that i want to equip and give up an old one for.
Still looking though!
