Hello Everyone,
I have an Idea , In Big Towns make a Town Hall in which you can accept random quests like (lost item, bounty hunting, missing person) . Quest should be plain and simple just you have to find the place where the item is lost and fight a few monsters . And rewards for the town hall quest can be a little low like some coins ,maybe potions/food , etc.
Give thoughts into it

Re: Town Hall Quests
Hello Manu, and welcome to the forums.
There are no random quests. They all have to be written by someone. Most players also ask for more more complex quests, that are more interesting. The simple quests are useful early game, to gain XP, but not so popular later on.

Re: Town Hall Quests Ideas
Actually I would quite like this idea. But mabye not as an acutal quest, but instead more like a simple dialogue where you can get a small reward when you find the item or the missing person. This can be done by creating a quest which is not visible in the quest log I think. Just like it is in the new Beta () where this one person is . It's not a quest and also gives no reward, but it's a neat kind of "easter egg" that makes the game just a bit better

Or create more npcs, like that one who changes 10 meat on a snakeleather, that costs 50 more gold than those 10 meat. Maybe something like this? "Barters"
~Від раю до пекла покотитись легко~
~Вкаже шлях біда~
~Від пекла до раю я стежок не знаю~
~Не тече зі споду догори вода~

Re: Town Hall Quests Ideas
We have unused npcs in the game too. I've been asking for multiple type quests since long, unlike a one time quest from npcs.
Here's a simple idea;
1 - pick any npc, assign a short background and add interesting context for every next quest from him or her
2 - make every quest from the same npc with certain pre-condition to unlock it, like completing certain major quests (similar to cithurn requiring certain experience), OR other criteria based on XP, abilities, progress in story, etc to unlock every new quest, which becomes more challenging as well
3. Introduce goodies on completion of every next quest, like items, permanent stat boost, or keys to locked map areas not possible to enter, etc
4. There could be quests associated with collectibles. The game has lots of useless stuff. Why not make use of it? Like bringing certain number of items to craft them into something else, which could be used or sold for gold!
This template is very useful to make npcs not running out of purpose after 1 quests, while making grinding fun as well.

Re: Town Hall Quests Ideas
Exactly
This is why umar is my favourite npc. His line of quests offers everything from xps, goodies, challenge and interesting story.
We need more such chain of events with various possibilities than add more 1 time quests or new npcs. Existing npcs are enough to extend the longevity of the game

Re: Town Hall Quests Ideas
The problem is and Umar is a prime example of it is complexity. Not for the player as to you it seems simple, but to the content creators, such NPCs are very difficult to manage and not break.
The apprentice in Stoutford is another example. Even the potion maker in Fallhaven. The more you keep going back to these NPCs the more difficult it becomes for us to manage.

Re: Town Hall Quests Ideas
It depends: If the quests for one NPC are one after another, it is no real problem.
Only if the quests are independent and could be done in either sequence or even parallel, then it would be a nightmare to develop.

Time.
Of course, if you wish to do it, you can. It's an open source game.
