Fun RPG Games to play between AT releases

Here are a couple old-school style* games that I've greatly enjoyed:
*hearken to 80's RPG's.. Bard's Tales, Wizardry, Ultima, Might & Magic, etc

Ah, took a moment to recall that one..then remembered it was aka The Secret of Monkey Island.
Never played it, but heard it was loads of fun.
Played Zork I and Sorcerer from Infocom..both great.
Any other RPG/Adventure favs..especially older ones or retro style?

Some of the Ultima series was really good. Going back further, The Dungeons of Moria was my go-to game.

Never played DoM, tho now want to look it up to see if can play online. Hey, check here..looks like can play it:

Yeah, I still have the ancient full-sized boxes, incl cloth maps, for Ultima II & III.. even wrote a review of Ultima III for "COMPUTE!" mag back in 1984.
Loved playing those..along with Wizardry I (still have the old box set).

Speaking of rogue-like games i think that's the most sophisticated one you'll ever get the chance to play.
And it's hard. No way to escape permadeath but cheating.
The only person known to me to have legally found the amulet of yendor is Sid Dabster. (Who else might know and remember Sid...?)
