Some of you had encountered a serious bug so that the quest "Recovering stolen property" could not be completed.
(If you miss a certain traveler, you should talk to Sullengard's innkeeper in this new release)

I think I found this bug in 0.8.2. I cannot progress on this quest, and talking to the innkeeper doesn't show any new conversation.

Last entry of the quest log is that I have spoken to Gaelian and he had nothing to do with this crime.

I tried talking to the thief in the basement, also no conversation to go forward in this quest. I talked to the lost traveler and also yield nothing to progress in the quest. In fact, I attempted conversation with everyone in Sullengard. No one in town can help me with this quest.

I have another hero which somehow was able to finish the quest, and I don't think I did anything differently.

Any thought what I may have missed?

I think this is what I did. Can you try and see if it works?

After having a talk about stolen items with Gaelian, go back to that NPC whose property is stolen and talk to him. Than go to Mayor Ale and talk to him. I think he gave info about traveler. Than go to the inn, talk to the innkepper, and than talk to the traveler.

I might be wrong and that these characters might have no impact on the quest. But it wouldn't hurt to try if you're in Sullengard already.

You need to talk to other people around the town before you talk to the thief. The idea here is that the thief sees you talking to other people and then she decides to chime in and help you out.
