Did you ever get the sentry to talk to you. I am having the same problem. He just keeps telling me to leave.

Go upstairs and kill the warden

Then go talk to the soldier outside.

I do appreciate you trying to help me.
I have that conversation but after he says "So I would advise you to leave, unless you want to be overrun by the undead" the only option I have is " Yes I will leave" that's all.
