Looking for some gameplay advice

I've been playing about two weeks and my stats are below. Thanks to developers for coming up with a fun game. I played RPGs many (many) years ago and I'm glad I stumbled on this one. I forgot how much I used to enjoy them. (I'm an old fart - age 53)

So I've solved most of the quests and defeated most of the monsters down in the caves and dungeons. I thought I'd been in all the houses and shops, but I have yet to run accross the ring of +6 damage. Read a lot of posts here and it seems this is a purchase item. Anyone care to tell me where I would go to purchase it? And how much it will cost?

My other question is what do most of you select when you level up? I've been choosing mostly +1 damage, but if I can get that ring, I would then start padding the attack and defense percentages. (can't remember what the fourth option is right now) I invite any who would like to share their choice and the reasons why.

Thanks again.

The +6 damage rings are sold by gruil in the starting town tavern. (Around 3000 gold)
Infos about how players skilled the level up points can be gathered in the Highscore topic.
I mostly skill AD and AC. (also some HP) The reason: I like to kill them before they can get a hit on me.

Thanks. I'll go check that out.

Also, one more thing, once you've gained the trust in Villegard, is there anywhere there to rest for free? I think they asked for 250 gold in the tavern accross the road. I hate to use up my bonemeal and meat. Or, once the quests are solved, is there any reason to go back there?

You don't really need to pay to rest there if you can rest for free. You will be wanting to go after the ring of lesser shadow. For the skinny on that, read the 27 page post LOL. It will take a lot of time and grinding. If you are not that into grinding, well the monsters in the new area may be a little high for you at your current level. I know that some people like to bring their HP to above 45 because when you are grinding for the RoLS, the Masters and apprentices can crit you for 34 points max. This gives you some room to drink a bonemeal and strike back.

That 250 is a one time fee. You will be able to go back as often as you like and rest.

Am I missing something? I don't see any reason to travel back to Vilegard once I have solved the three quests. Is there something there worth fighting / looking for? Someone mentioned...
...looking for the RoLS, but I thought that was dropped in Flagstone???
