I am out of prison and still have tablet, sent it in for deinstitutionalization, and still cannot download updates for andor's trail to it Help! Anybody level 122 and alot of everything do not want to lose all that grind!
When you say "cannot download updates for andor's trail to it," is "it" the tablet that you are using? You might have better luck by playing the game on an android phone or an android emulator and moving your save file over to that device.
If the save file does not work on the official version of the game, you could edit the save file of the official version of the game to give yourself the same level of progress. However, I do not know how to do that. Someone else would have to write a guide for it. See viewtopic.php?p=80275 .
hi just came across this i was in the bop when they brought tablets i bought this game was amazing way to pass otherwise bad time
they are grimy i still have my tablet the game is on it along with all of my music i purchased over the years
now it is deactivated you have to send it too a bop company and pay for them to remove the security lock
being a computer guy my whole life i said screw that ill just do it myself they have wrote there own driver for the usb handshake
plugging the tablet into any os does not work windows linux mac it wont recognize the device so i have a copy of there version of andors trail but
cannot access it and ive given them too much money already to send it in to them i hope you guys figure out a way to make them pay you
for your work it is a amazing game they are ripping off you guys just wanted to share my experience
Interesting insight - thx for sharing.
Probably there is a hole to get the system open for you - there always is. But I expect it to be rather hard work - not worth it I'd say. There are better ways to spend your time
Stay outside bop and happy playing Andor's Trail!
It is possible to pull the saved game file, edit it, and replace it, but it requires hardware mods to read/write directly from the eMMC. This method is highly impractical for most users, and extremely unlikely while still incarcerated.
As for accessing the tablet via a computer, I reverse-engineered the tablet control software, but it still requires ATG's private encryption key (384-bit ECDSA) to function properly.
In sum, prisoners are stuck with version 0.8.6.1 of the game and are unlikely to be able export their progress without significant effort. But anyone who grinded through to level 122 may have the persistence required to accomplish the task.
