3) And what's this stuff about the colored room? I completed the BW/Prim quest so I have access to that room, but I can't make it do anything but turn orange, and then the doorway is gone, so I have to change it back to regular to leave. Can it change other colors, and is there ever a doorway out when it's a different color? Maybe I'm just not a smart as the rest of you? (a distinct possibility!)

Any help appreciated.

There is a combination of correct colors to pick.

Try orange, purple, blue then purple.

Not sure if that is right or not but once you get past that

You enter another room. In this room you will have and orange "gem" on your left and another color "gem" on right. If you walk up to them they will tell you what they do. They can be used over and over.

But before you do that

You need to talk to the guy in the room with the 2 colored "gems". He will have another quest for you.

I got mine from the Kazaul Guardian. I think you have to have started the quest in order for him to attack you. I didn't try to go that deep in the temple until after I got to that point in the quest.

The colored rooms will get you into the inner chamber, it doesn't take all that long to figure out the sequence.

It's a decent weapon, but swings too slow for my tastes (big AP). The 1 HP restore worked well back in the gargoyle cave or snake cave. I didn't like it on BWM. I'd take too much damage from not being able to kill the monsters fast enough. With the Jewel of Fallhaven you can get 2 hits per round. That works ok for me with weaker monsters, but not so much with the Wyrms and trainers.

Thanks. I figured out the colored room. Went in a got the quest. So do I have to go all the way into that dark area to complete it and get the slayer?

I did, but the instructions are not clear. He said to sprinkle the liquid on the Kazaul shrine. So what I'm asking is if I have to go through the dark area to find the shrine. I thought it might be that first structure just off the path, but there's not an opportunity that I can find to use the spirits there.

Once you go down the stairs to the lit area you have to traverse the dark passages and will end up in another lit area with more stairs leading down. It lies south west of the first area but you have to go all over the place to get there. Luckily, there doesn't seem to be any dead ends, but I would recommend dropping rocks at the points you turn to make it easier to navigate.

Once down the second stairs the area is well lit. Cross the bridge and then head north.
