Artistic part of the game

Hello, I'm new here. Firs of all, thanks for great nostalgic RPG (because of it my Nintendo DS is on vacation now )
And I want to participate (a bit) in development of the game. I can't program, but I am graphic designer and artist.
Maybe the game needs a cover or something like that? Or it's too early to talk about such things? :D

This area has potential of improvement.
Perhaps you could design the loading screen and/or the top part of the menu.

I think the game world is fine as it is now, but you could also redesign the monsters and NPCs. IMO some of them have low quality. (especially on bigger screens)
Also more variations of NPCs and monsters would be great. Actually we always talk to the same 10 NPC models.

Hello Karvis,

I'm glad to hear you enjoy the game, and that you want to help make it even better!

Without knowing what your area of expertise is, its hard to say where your efforts would be most efficiently used. My wishlist however, is as follows:
- More tiles that we can use as NPCs
- More tiles with a broken down look. Lots of the tiles we use now are too flowery and cute. I really would like to have the option to make maps look even more scary, dirty and filled with cobwebs.
- Some tiles of skeletal remains. Both human and animal.
- For the next release we will have a news system in place for doing more types of effects on actors, such as poison. We currently only have visual effects to indicate "general dafmage", poison and healing, but I would like to have the option of showing more visual effects for "magic-like" effects. Frost/fire/curse/lifesteal and so on.

Tiles in Andor's Trail are 32x32 pixel, and use transparency.

Thank you in advance
/Oskar

First I used my imagination and created quick simple cover. ;)

I understand that more important now is graphic of the game tiles.
Mainly I work with vector graphic, but I will try to make few such tiles with raster programs.
If I understood corectly, tiles must be 32x32 px .PNG with transparent background. Or other file format?

And sorry for my English :)

id like to point out again since oscar mentioned more tiles, the actual tilset used is a subset of the one originally created by FSM, located here, free to use without credit--

it has tons of extra tiles and many extra options for the ones we are using.

these are the original pixel artists, everyone else is copying them, pretty sure that includes enterbrain.

More... The first one can be enemy bandit, or angry NPC, or even ogre if I will change skin to green :). If you need any correction with these all my made tiles, or have new ideas or suggestions, please tell. I hope I will make more soon.
