Looking at a new phone...

Post by ScorpionZ »

I am a satisfied Sprint customer who has toted around the HTC Hero for almost two years.

I am looking at the line of Android phones currently available through Sprint and was wondering what the general opinion of available phones was.

My wife thinks I should get an EVO 4G like hers.

I kinda like the EVO 3D.

There are a couple of others that are available.

What do y'all think? Have you had any good/bad experiences with these phones?

Thanks!

I just saw this on phandroid.com, if you're interested in the Nexus S. I'm on Verizon with the first Droid, and I like the stock google UI, so I'm hoping Verizon gets the next Nexus phone, since Motorola and HTC have been locking boot loaders lately, but Samsung seems more open.

Samsung's Galaxy series phones are awesome.

They work great stock. Can watch netflicks on them. They can be rooted easily. and are just an all around good phone.

We have 2 of the Vibrants and one of the new Vibrant 4G phones. All are Galaxy series phones.
Ha Ha, Made you look.

I have the original Droid Incredible and love it. Not sure what I am going to get next. I do know that after my grandfathered unlimited data plan goes away I will be moving to whoever still has it.

A good friend of mine has the Evo 4G and likes it a lot, the little bit I have used it I think it is a good phone especially if you have 4G coverage in your area, if not go with the 3D.

Really pleased with my HTC Desire HD - the big screen is great for this game 4.3inch.
The Amoled screen on the Samsung Galaxy S is lovely - very bright in daylight - great colours.

Doubt this helps as I know little about phones as I mainly game on my HTC.

I mostly game on my phone too. Every now and then I have to take a call or answer a text.

Thanks for the input and suggestions!

My offering would be to get first hand reviews and specs on all the models you're considering from the extensive database of devices over at XDA Developers: http://www.xda-developers.com/ :)

Anybody planning on purchasing the Galaxy Nexus?
I would if my contract was up, but its not, so I will have to wait. I was wondering if anybody here will because I am dieing to here how AT performs on this phone.

I just ordered one this morning :D

I stuck with the free 2 day shipping, instead of extra for overnight, so I should get it on Saturday, and if I get it early enough I can get it all set up that day. But I kind of have a busy weekend coming up, so if I have to, I might wait until the Christmas holidays when I have time off from work. That way, I can also be sure all the rooting methods are compatible with the LTE version before trying it myself.

But once I have it running, I'll be happy to let you know how AT runs on it.

Sounds good. To say that I am envious would be an understatement. Good for you.
