Re: weapons should always have a low amount of BC
I thought that long swords BC should have more than short swords, because it is longer...for example short: +4 BC, long: +6 BC
...I am just saying

Re: weapons should always have a low amount of BC
On the contrary, it depends. The largest swords, great swords and broadswords, mean that you'd have to swing them around with great force and have little room for fancy manoevers or finesse to block blows. Daggers and rapiers, on the other hand, make use of desperation and finesse to make up for lack of reach and strength. IMO, daggers and Rapiers should have the highest BC in the game. In medieval ages, some knights would rather use a dagger than a shield, as the parrying dagger was more manoeverable than a heavy shield, and gives a better block rate than a shield if you know how to use it.

I live fight, and I use a short sword in my shield hand for just that reason, it's a light, nearly invisible, very manouverable shield that also has a decent reach if someone gets too closeWyrmspawn wrote:On the contrary, it depends. Lol, for that matter, a shield *is* a crushing weapon, although very short rangeSarumar wrote: I agree, only when opponent use chain or/and crushing weapons i prefer shield.

Btw saru, it should be "...when my opponent uses a chain..."

Re: weapons should always have a low amount of BC
Speaking of blocking, in ancient China, the real Kung-fu masters didn't use shields or anything to block blows. They used only their weapons. You don't see the shaolin monks using much more than their bare hands or a rake. You don't see the modern Wudang priests and disciples using more than just one sword. Weapons are sometimes designed to perform blocking actions, such as the Chinese wheel. IMO, the game needs more defensively minded weapons. Like, a parrying dagger that increases block chance by 20 and AC by 10.

Masters of any martial arts... yes they can block, but our young adventurer have not decades to learn the trick

Re: weapons should always have a low amount of BC
Well, it's just that there are a lot of weapons in ancient China designed to block blows more than to inflict them. I'm not so sure about other cultures, but I'm pretty sure that there are at least four non-exotic weapons in ancient China designed to block blows and neutralise the enemy's blows. Even if you're no master, beginners have to learn how to use these defensive weapons. So, IMO, there should be weapons that are more focused on blocking instead of attacking. I'm sure that my fencer build (that's what I call my build with high AC and BC) could use more block chance.

Re: weapons should always have a low amount of BC
Hmm, there are some weapons with +5% to BC already.... But I agree I like some defensive weapons like parryig rapier AD-5, AC-20%, BC +10%, DR +1.....Wyrmspawn wrote:Well, it's just that there are a lot of weapons in ancient China designed to block blows more than to inflict them. Exactly! There should be ways for us to play defensive builds in the game.Sarumar wrote:Hmm, there are some weapons with +5% to BC already....
