I finally hit level 160 with my "base game" character, so now my plan is to split this off into 3 different games.

Main one will be mostly self-serving and go for whatever choices provide the most XP or chance to kill someone.
Side with Vacor (want to see if he ever opens the rift), sell the family dagger, side with BWM Settlement (to get the barbed dagger and Sword of Shadow's Rage), kill the sheep, kill the art thieves, deliver the fake swords, kill Buceth, keep the helmet, kill the rats but then also kill the witch (I'm going to stick with a critical hit build for this character so I want the feathered hat).

Game 2 will be "good" and lawful taking the side of Feygaurd Lord Geomyr - side with Unzel (even though Feyguard is also anti-Shadow, opening a rift seems more dangerous and unlawful), side with Prim (they're really both bad but Prim seems more helpless), return the family dagger to its rightful place, leave the sheep alone, kill the art thieves, deliver the real swords, kill Buceth, purfiy the helmet, let the rats live and kill the witch.

Game 3 will be twisted and unlawful taking the side of Nor and The Shadow - side with Unzel (stopping Vacor is probably the only thing the guards and followers of the Shadow would agree on), side with BWM, sell the dagger, kill the sheep, not report the art thieves, deliver the fake swords, not report Buceth, keep the helmet, kill the rates and side with the witch.

I also plan to do the BWM and Prim quests last so I can split game 2 and 3 off again for kill the opposing town's leader or letting them run away.

Going to be a fun week! :D

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Also I have a question to ask:

When do you have too much AC?

My answer: 345 is the line

Why you ask? here let me explain:

The NPC with the highest BC I can find is the Plaguestrider Master w/

175% BC!

but the Plaguestrider Master also can effect you with a status effect lowering you AC up to

-70%! ouch!

which raises the AC required to just match it by another 70%

bringing the required AC to match the NPCs BC up to 245%

Now to be sure you will hit a good % of the time you would need to beat that by another 100% (could be less but 100% over usually means you hit 8/10 times on average)

bringing your total AC needed up to 345%

So what i am saying that is after i get to 345 i feel like i won't need more AC... until V7 comes out  bwahahahaha

Currently: Right now i am at 326% ac and am not missing very often at all, so as i said above my new plan is to raise my AD.

Happy hunting everyone and Happy Holidays too!

Obviously, I draw the line a bit higher than 345%, as my current base AC is 350% and I've got over another 150% from equipment (the silk robe and shimmering hat are the first 2 extra-rare drop items I actually consider worthy of being called "extraordinary").

I agree those spiders (I know that's not what they're called but they sure look like it) are pretty tough, and if they manage to survive your initial attack, those conditions they inflict are pretty nasty.

I would say I have too much AC if it ever goes to a point that it goes back around to 0 :D
Until then, I'm aiming for an equipped AC of over 500%, which I currently have but I want it solidly over 500. The reason is to get more use out of high attack cost weapons like the Skullcrusher, and Gutsplitter (my 2 favorite "non-standard" weapons). So its important that each swing actually lands a blow on any enemies since I only get 2 swings per attack unless I'm fighting a mob. I'll probably stop after hitting a base AC of 400% though.

I hesitated with starting a new character, but I'm really happy now that I have. It was so beneficial to know where to go to build up gold and then what equipment/skills/level ups to use. I've went AD heavy early, but have leveled out to a more balanced strategy. This time I went with Corpse Eater and Regen, vs More/Better Crits. I'm plugging away at finding the ROLS and now with Com Sp x2, I'm crusin thru there...just waiting for that precious!

I seem to have gone down the opposite path to everyone on the forums. On my first playthrough, I had been focusing on damage. Then I met Irogutu and his damage resistance, and started hoarding every single point of it that I could. It wasn't until I got onto the forums that I realized why the Jewel of Fallhaven was so important. But my most powerful builds are still going for damage over AC. I'm hoping for 30 base for my builds, but knowing my tendency to start new builds again and again, that's pretty unlikely.

Still, my point with AC is: it doesn't matter how many times you hit out of ten. All that matters is that you have to land in a blow powerful enough to KO your enemy in one hit. So, I always favoured AD over AC. And I also favour the Necklace of the Protector over the Marrowtaint... Anyone else who builds like me?
Hey guys, I'm back.

From the start of my game I would say I split my levels ups about evenly between AC & AD, I didn't use any for BC until after I had passed level 100, and only used HP twice to meet the requirements for some skills.

My goals were to get my base AD to 100, and my base AC to 300, so I'd usually alternate every 10 level ups into AD or AC.

If your focus is on landing that one powerful blow, do you use a critical hit weapon, or do you prefer the damage to be consistent?

I used critical hit weapons, but they were balanced after update 0.6.11, so now I use the gutsplitter.

I was also using the Gut Splitter everywhere but the path to Remgard. It gets a little extra use if you have combat speed x2 and one level of cleave.

But now I'm focusing on getting more use out of the Skull Crusher. I get 2 attacks per turn thanks to combat speed and the JoF, and with level 2 of cleave each kill gets me another swing when I fight a mob. My next plan is to get a couple more points into More Criticals. I love the 0-26 AD range.

Why all this dark/shadow/troublemaker gear then? :?
I expected a balanced steel sword, rings of the protector - that kind of stuff!
Still playing this game at level 5, collected all extraordinaries, now some precious ring would be useful...
