Deleting saved files

Is there an easy way to delete saved files? I've got three copies (I played while I was in the car and my finger slipped) and I'd like to delete.

Use a File Explorer app like total commander.

Make a new build and save it over one of the saved files. That is, if you're interested in another build.

There no built-in file management. And you can't give your save game files a special filename when saving. It's one of the shortfalls that I've never liked. Would be nice to give the file a description of some sort. Would make having multiple characters and branching at critical decision points much easier to manage.

If I just open my 'files' (pre-set file explorer for my phone) and open up the AT files it just shows

Savegame2
Savegame3....
etc, etc
Maps.

At that point I can just individually start deleting files, and when I re-open the game the deleted save games are gone.

What about the gap between the filenumbers, that is generated by a manual deletion?
If you delete (for example) Savegame3 out of four files, will there be four buttons,
including an empty one on position 3 or will only three buttons be shown?
And - if the latter is the case - what happens, when I save on position 3,
will Savegame3 be generated or Savegame4 be overwritten?

Here you go:

I deleted savegame2, after that my load screen looks (see the picture).

Then i continued playing ( savegame) and schoose to save it using a "create a new savegame slot". (see the picture).

I think those screenshots loaded up backwards.

You started with 8 total save slots (1-8), deleted #2, saved a new game and now have 8 total save slots (1, 3-9). Correct?
