In my opinion, Block Chance or blocking at all is totally useless. Given that in the game, you end up with an infinite amount of gold and health potions. On top of that, infinite amount of "run away" option from creatures, then via can heal and go back continue killing. AND via again if needed, run away, heal, go back to killing. Ect. I haven't spent one point in block chance, or anything related to blocking. As well as when I level, I haven't one time chose to have a higher block chance. The game has gone ridiculously smooth for me.. So I just don't see it being useful or pointed in the game. If the game had gone horrible, or at least not that great, via dying or having to use a ton of potions, or running out of gold for potions because of. Which. By the way.. I have one time that I've "fallen". I did it on purpose for its technical, teleport purposes. In conclusion, Block Chance is totally useless in the game currently. From what I've tested. Which is 6 characters, in which 3 I did none and 3 I did Block Chance. The ones I did Block Chance actually went slower and less effective by extreme measures, compared to the characters I didn't even think of using Block Chance. Also went worse, because the characters I did Block Chance with, had less effective Attack Chance and Attack Damage. Therefore creating even longer time to gain experience, and less kills taking more time; means even more time to get certain items.

I disagree with you on BC.
Around Lvl 50 it is getting more and more interesting to invest heavily in BC. Before that, the benefit of high BC is lower than raising AC and AD - at this I agree with you. After reaching an AD of 35-50, increasing AD does not results in dramatically changes. If you need two rounds for a monster to take down, you have to increase AD for the next 30-40 levels to get it down within one round. Lets say this monster deals 10 to 50 points of damage to you between these two rounds. Increasing your BC from appr. 100 to 190 points makes it very unlikely that this monster deals any damage at all between two rounds to you. Maybe you end up taking an average damage of 5 HP instead of 30 (at BC 100). If you have corpse eater 1 or 2 and the RoLS you will very likely march through the rows of your enemies instead of blowing hundreds of healing portions... And avoiding negative actor conditions is something I know to value high. (I am playing some other Chars at Lvl 35 to 60 as well as my High Lvl Char after all.)

On the other hand, at the moment a Lvl 60+ Char is a little OP for the current game.

But.. "blowing hella health potions" as you said doesn't mean anything; via you have over a million gold and health potions are 10 gold each. So healing is an infinitely continuous never ending thing in the game. As well as I'm duel wielding 2 Rapier of Life steal, I can do full walks on the entire game map without using like 2 health potions sometimes none at all. So I'm not even using health potions just from leveling I have over 1000 of each potion some I have several thousand of, I've only bought 10 bonemeal potions.. and it was for the quest never used one :) Block Chance is a waste of time completely, AS OF the current game where it stands. If the game was completed, which it hasn't been for over years now. And not even updated in over a year also. Maybe it would be different, and I wouldn't feel that way about Block Chance. Unless your telling me there is going to be some massive Łəvįţhăñ type creatures in an update happening today.. highly, highly doubt. Then BC is useless :)

wait for the next update, developers are revising how game calculates attack chance and block chance during combat.


and I am agree to you somewhat as in my opinion block chance is not useless but it is also not necessary to complete the game.


I invested lvl ups in block chance at lvl16 and afterwards and that helped a little but not compare to AD in my latest build.

Thank you. Even still.. when's the next update? In another 6 months? In another year? I'll be going to max level with attack damage high enough to one hit every creature. So even if it was reworked though, by the time an update is put out people who are currently regularly playing will be so high, it's just going to be a run through the new "update" real quick with ease. My point being on that is, they are lacking so much in updates that people have infinite amount of everything already by the time an update is released. It's now just how easily can I go through it lol. But thanks for agreeing, like I said I tested on so many characters. I did a character where I actually did no Attack Chance either, just Attack Damage and that even went very, very smooth.. XD

the next update will be out soon.

but a thing I forgot to mention is higher block chance comes handy when fighting enemies that can inflict negative actor conditions like wyrm trainers or izthiels.

Yeah but actor conditions still are useless when you have high enough Attack Chance and or Attack Damage. I'm currently farming for more ElyR's.. and actually in my signature is the dmg and ect, is with the condition acting lol. :mrgreen:

How many Chars are using 2 RoL? Don't tread your Char as representative for all Chars played with AT, keep in mind that nearly no Char is equipped like yours. I have Chars fighting without any RoL and I say, it makes quite a difference having 100 BC (from equipment) or 190 BC (parts from skill). And I say, investing in BC makes sense at some certain point in the game (imho at lvl 50 upwards).

All this information was before I had any legendarys, or extraordinarys. On new characters, which if my information is correct.. when you make a new character, it will be very similar to if I make a new character lol.

I agree that BC is currently somewhat abundant, but I have no doubts that it will prove quite handy later in development.
As it is now, having high damage and accuracy, along with enough HP to sustain a hit or two should an enemy attack first or if one or two hits happen to miss, one will progress brilliantly.
I'm not saying that it is the best build out there, but it holds its own just fine in any case and makes progress faster than a build focused on defense.

I prefer to play balanced, so I'm placing a few points in BC and enough in AC, whereas the rest goes into damage.
My health increses steadily with IF!

However, ignoring BC is by all means a firm build!
