Best way to level... I am lvl 7

I have been playing this game for about 5 days now... I am building a Baldur's Gate 2 “Kensai” build (major damage, no armor), but I am new to Android as well, so I am not sure how to extrapolate build data...

I am currently:
Lvl 15 with 65963 xp
40 HP
Attack Chance 161 %
Attack Damage 16-23

My Skills are:
Increased Fortitude
Regeneration
More Criticals (I think I wasted this slot... should have taken Evasion sooner)

I'll be leveling up in 2000 xp and am torn between Combat Speed and Evasion. I think I want Evasion because when “you get the drop on a monster”, you can deal damage first. My attack cost is 3 so I get 3 attacks in a normal 10 round. I currently waste 1 point, but I am unsure how Combat Speed will work. I will probably save before leveling (I wish I knew how to save back when I chose More Criticals) so I can try both skills out.

I do not think the game was too hard at first... I was my hubris that caused my death. I thought I was the “king of the snake caves” and headed south for new adventures. Then I went west and was surprised by that concealed Anklebiter. Now I know to carry more than 5 meats and how to use quick slots!

IMO more criticals is nice skill, but i suggest to choose it later on game. Evasion is great, but in the next version of game (0.7) its usefulnes will be decreased becauce of agressive monsters, etc.. Combat speed is the best skill in game, but you cannot enjoyed full power of this skill until level 30 with 2 level of it.

I see your point... 11 Action Points are not nearly as beneficial as 12. I am going to bank skills at levels 24 and 28, then choose 2 Combat Speeds at 30. I also see your point about More Criticals... now that I have Flagstone's Pride, it helps. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!

With my main build current gear and 7 ranks in more criticall i have nice 40% chance ...

...you mean pick first combat speed at level 24 (it helps with some weapons, fleeing and there are potion of speed too awailable in later of game raises max ap by 2] and bank level 28 skill point

It does depend on one thing. What weapon you are using:

If the weapon you are using is 3Ap to use and you're still unable to get Combat speed (lvl 2) getting level 1 can be very useful to a playr early on since you can swing twice and still have enough AP to use a potion/food to heal (or even try to flee)

For example:
11/11: Swing once
08/11: Swing again
05/11: Still have enough to flee or use potion/food

hi Laggh, i think it's really worth investing in and maxing out the Combat Speed skill. i'm at level 41 now with level 2 Combat Speed plus purchase of Jewel of Fallhaven. i'm using the Pride of Flagstone and with 12 AP, each combat turn allows me chance of four hits. believe me, it'll be great help in your adventuring

i'm planning to invest in More Criticals and Better Criticals in future skill upgrades.

I will strongly recommend that you not "invest in better critical". Instead, level-up AD.

There is a way to make use of Combat Speed level 1, while working on the next skill point to get to level 2, which is what I did.

First, get Cleave, which gives you back 3 AP on each kill when you attack multiple enemies: 1 Weapon Accuracy, 1 Hard Hit, then 1 Cleave (that's the order I went in). Make sure you have the Jewel of Fallhaven, and the Quickstrike dagger - this combination will give you an attack cost of 2 AP.

Now when you get Combat Speed level 1, you'll have 11 AP. If you attack a mob (2 or more at a time), then when you kill 1, you'll get another 3 AP, which will be enough for 1-2 more attacks.

Example:
If it takes 3 attacks to kill the first monster, you'll have 5AP left. Cleave will give you another 3, for a total of 8, so now you have 4 chances to attack the second monster.

Of course, this strategy works best if you've been using your level ups to focus on AC & AD.

Nice idea... I once had saved a newb file over my original lvl 74 as a result of too much blackwater brew altho I don't know if this would have helped in my condition lol
