Ironman game

Post by Charian »

Hi everyone!

I'm pretty new to the game, have been playing it a couple of days and I absolutely love it :)
It's the first tbs role playing game I could find for Android and it's all I could have hoped for. Well, except for the unfinished parts... ;)
I love the fact that it's fairly simple, but you can still make a lot of different choices on gear and builds.

To make the game more challenging (and more role-play) for me, I have decided to play Ironman style: no 'unconscious' for me, a lost battle means death and a restart! So far, I've died at lvl 3,3,3,5 and 8. As you can imagine, I've become very efficient at playing the start of the game
Currently, I am level 19 and still going strong. I've grinded the snake cave hundreds of times to get all the expensive items I can buy atm. Now I'm in the Gargoyle Cave for some more serious grinding...

Did anyone else try to play the game without 'dying'?

Welcome to the Forums

I think almost all of us have tried one at some point. There was even a permadeath topic on the forum at one point. Creating that many builds would drive me up the wall especially since one lucky shot is all it takes.

Kudos to you for keeping at it though.

Welcome to the game and the forums.
The Iron Man idea sounds very challenging, a bit too much for me, I'm a big supporter of the save and reload tactic, but I admire your determination.

But I like the sound of an Iron Man build -all equipped gear has to be metal.

Welcome Charian, and good luck with your brave mission!

I think you will change your view when you pick up a RoLS, though...
Still playing this game at level 5, collected all extraordinaries, now some precious ring would be useful...

Thanks for the welcoming words everyone.

Lvl 22 now, no legendary item in sight. I won't take the top spot in the LE rankings for that. But I'm still alive and well! Actually, with every level it gets easier to stay alive.

What do you mean 'the RoLS will change my view' ? Will it become less of a challenge or will I start taking too many risks?

They mean that you won't be willing to delete and start over once you get one. It's that good, and that hard to get.

Yep I totally agree with that... I have a file that I really need to delete but it has 2 RoLS one of which I gained before magicfinder was released. It is also my first save game. I cannot bring myself to part with it.

I also still have my first game in save slot #1 (and 2 as a backup), and the split off save for trying whatever the other choice was. I still use them whenever there's an update to try out both sides of a quest to figure out which best suits each of my new builds.
