Never mind scott, i see you meant brian cox. I absolutely love his space and physics lectures. He is a very very inteligent man... He is the reason I became so enamored with the universe. In fact I did my AP astronomy paper on some of his theories on the formation of large scale stars and the possible resulting actions when the star's elemental fusion ceases (super novas, dwarf stars, neutron stars, black holes, etc)

Your right pyrizzle, the kazual maps do not have human followers but the folks up in blackwater chant kazual rituals. (Not sure what they are doing). So is kazualism a religion, or is kazual an actual creature that we might come across or slay in our journey?

I will find out eventually. Besides the whole blackwater vs prim thing is going on, kind of leads you to believe a kazual vs elythara showdown is eminent. Some god like entities in this game shall throw down and only one will remain.

Only on pay per view for $49.99, or well uh, idk how many euros that would be.

I assume the shadow is like everything, kazual is portrayed as a demon of some sorts, and i do not know about elythara, kind of seems like a girls name. If kazual was a demon I would think elythara could "temptress", but they would be no match for the shadow.

Also if the shadow is a being, does it cast its own shadow?

By definition religion is a belief in something that can't be proven empirically. This means if Jesus came down to earth and apologized for his dad messing up our planet, Christianity would cease to be a religion. The ghosts, magic of Andor's Trail are real. Their effects are not placebos but real. So not a religion but scientific by means of exploring and manipulating powers that are real in the world of AT. If bonemeal potions work there has to be a physical or chemical power that creates this effect. At least if the laws of our world apply to the world of AT.

But here's the point: AT is a world of fantasy. You are taking your attitude (or beliefs) into a world of fantasy where nothing that is valid in our world needs to be true. And I don't think that is a good thing to do. You are an atheist: Great, I am one too. But when I first played AT I enjoyed the rich story and details and played a die hard Shadow Believer. Because I use RPGs to do things that I do not in real world. I never slayed monsters, I never performed rituals that transformed my life. But I love doing it in AT.

Ok, so how about this?

Early in the history of the world of AT, the worshipers Elythara and the Shadow come into conflict. Eventually the gods themselves are drawn into the war. During the course of their titanic struggle a hole is torn open into another dimension/hell, and Kazual along with it's minions escapes into the world of AT. At first the human forces are decimated, until they give up their disagreements and join forces against the marauding hell spawn. In the final conflict, the Shadow and Elythara together corner Kazual and in a contest of powers never before seen in the world manage to defeat the demon lord. They cast him back into his home dimension and seal the rift behind him. But Elythara was wounded and severely weakened in the struggle, and fades from reality after promising his followers he would return.

Fast forward to the present time (1000 years?, 10000 years?, something portentous). Elythara is still absent, and his followers have slowly disappeared until almost none still know of his name. The Shadow dominates the world. But stirrings of evil have been felt across the world, and strange, powerful creatures have been seen unlike nothing known. Rumors speak of sightings of the legendary Liches, evil undead wizards of great power, and the beasts of the wildernesses multiply making travel between the outposts of man treacherous.

Out into this changing world is thrust a boy, sent out by his father to locate his wayward brother Andor. Who knows what terrible forces might lay balanced upon the fate of one young man?
